MR. RICHARDS, from Baltimore, has the plea

has opened his rooms in the Masonic Hall, for the
tuition of young Ladies in the various branches of

including his original style of Flower Painting and
Pencil Drawing, India Finishing. Frflit and Marine
Painting, sketching from nature, &c.
Mr. It. has a number of specimens from his own
pencil, which he will he happy to exhibit to all who
will favor him with a visit, lie has devoted much
time to his collection of materials, studies, designs,
&c. His pupils will therefore have the advantage
of the best subjects for the pencil, also the use of
many valuable elementary works and essays upon
the art.
His object will he to convey a thorough and prac-'
tical knowledge of the study ; not a superficial ac
quaintance with the theory of the subject, which
will eventuate merely in the execution of a f'V.
pretty things. His design will he to make his pupils
ArtUts, which he hopes, with application d .on their
part, to accomplish. He will excrt to please
the lovers of the arts who honor him with their
patronage, and he dou! ts not, that many in this city,
will eagerly devote a little time to the attainment of
a knowledge of so enchanting an art.
A term consists of two months instruction—the

fore which time it is desirable that pupils should en
