that I b dieve dei oy si oil - my man Bob, is by name,
(as lie culled himself) Harris; he is about six feet
high, dark hair, and rather squint eyed, when talk
ing shows Ids upper teeth very much, his fore teeth
very broad; lie stated that he was raised at the
north, and talks very broad, and is rather stoop
shouldered and slender built, long armed, long hands,
and quite long lingers; he lias been engaged in
working on the State Rail Road when my bands
were engaged in the same business, and Harris and
my negro man Dob botii left that place on Sunday
night, the 21st October. I lands tried several other
Negroes, and promised thorn half of what he could
make by selling them, and their freedom in the end.
He told them that he would sell them in every
town they passed, and steal them again, and then
take water and make their escape. My man liuti
that lie carried oil’, is about 5 feet S inches high,
stout made, and slow spoken, 1 as a fleshy, soft hand
for a negro that labors, he can read very well, and
can write a tolerable smart band, one of his eyes

a down look. Any information respecting either or
