A 3 ADRSCN MALE AND FEMALE ACADE
-3 il MIES.—The Trustees of this Institution,
have the pleasure to announce to the public, that
their Academies arc in the most nourishing condition
and pie sent to the public the most inviting induce
ment.: for the education of youth.
The mate department is under the charge of Au
gustus \hlcn, t. M.,the present Hector, who will
nave an able assistant for the English department.
Mr. Alden is known as one of the most successful
teacher-, in HiR stale; his time during the ensuing
j ear will he devoted to the higher branches of the
daisies. Mathematics, and Oratory.
Our female school hm succeeded beyond our most
sanguin • expectations. We consider our institution
inferior to none in the Southern country. Professor
Pierce, asst ; ted by Miss White and others, have
charge of the Literary department. Their success
during the present year, we consider a snllieient
guarantee for an opportunity of obtaining in the
Madison Female Academy a finished education in
all the higher and substantial branches of literary
know h' 1 ; t. Mr. Daniel ( 1 ise, Profits or of Vocal
and Instrumental Music, Inn ing secured a competent
assistant, will be enabled to give the utmost satis
faction in his department. Such has tieen the num
ber of pupils during the present year wishing musi
cal instruction,, Heat he could not accommodate them
all; tais will be now obviated, and his entire atten
tion to this department will be given. His reputa
tion is (irmly established.
Our village is quite healthy. Board can be ob
tained in the most respectable families at moderate
rates.
The tuition fees are placed upon fair grounds.—
We believe they are lower than at several institu
tions in our State, where opportunities for education
are not as good.
The Male school will open on the Ist, and tho
demale on the four'.‘q Monday i i Januarv next.
