Course of Instruction in the Natural
Sciences.
A REGULAR and thorough course of Instruction
I jL in the Natural Sciences, with Lectures and
Experiments, will be commenced on the first day
of January next, at Mr. Egerton’s rooms, by Mr.
Merrit Platt, from New Haven.
The subjects first taken up, will be Chemistry end
Natural Philosophy. Hours of instruction to com
mence at 12 o’clock, M, and 4 P.M.
Young ladies, who may wish to avail themselves
of instruction in this important and interesting de
partment, without becoming members of the school,
will he admitted at $5 each ; former pupils of the
school art invited to attend gratuitously.
* The course will continue till about the middle of
June, and so far as the time will allow will include
besides the above, Geology, Mineralogy, Botany,
and Conchology.

Upon a bill filed by the administrators of the late
Doctor Augustus G. Shelman, to have the estate of
their said intestate marshalled and paid to his credi
tors, and in the investigation of said case it appeared
that the assets in the hands of the administrators,
bad been derived from the several firms in which
the deceased had been concerned in his life time,
as well as from his individual property; and it
moreover appearing that there will lie a deficiency
of assets to the whole of the several claims, it was
ordered by the court, that there should be allowed
further time, until the 17th dayof January next, for
the several claimants to render in their claims pro
perly authenticated, so that on the said day there
may be a distribution of the funds now on hand;
and it was further ordered that all claims not ren
dered in by or before that day, do lose their loan to
any part or portion of the assets then to he distribu
ted, and the undersigned Clerk of the Superior
Court of the county of Jefferson, was appointed au
ditor, to whom the said several claims will be
handed in, on or before that time, with a view to
the payment thereof in accordance witli the decree
of tlie court in the said case.
