1 au.k.sraiTfN, a Herman physician of much
note, having devoted his attention for some
years to the cure and removal of the causes of
NERVOUS AND SICK HEADACHE, has the
satisfaction to make known, that he has a remedy j
which by removing the causes cures effectually and
permanently this distressing complaint. There are !
many families who have considered sick headache j
a constitutional incurable complaint. Dr. 8. as
sures them that they are mistaken, and laboring un- 1
der distress which they might not only alleviate, ‘
but actually eradicate by the use of his remedy.
It is the result of scientific research, and is on- 1
tirely of a different character from advertised patent
medicines, and is not unpleasant to the taste.
HEADACHE, SICK OH NERVOUS.
The extraordinary reputation that Dr. Spohn’s 1
remedy for this distressing complaint is every day
gaining, is certainly a matter of much astonishment.
That so much suffering should have existed for [
ages without any' discovery of an effectual preven
tive, or cure, is truly a subject of much regret, but
Dr. S. now assures the public that such a remedy
has been invented as will convince the mostcredu
lous. The principles upon whieli it acts arc simple :
and plain. It is an admitted fact that this com
plaint, whether ca'lcd sick headache, or nervous
headache, arises primarily from the stomach —those
who think they have the nervous .headache may
rest assured that this organ, the stomach, is the first
cause ; that the system has become vitiated or dehil
tated, through the stomach, and that only through
the same channel must they expect a restoration of
the natural and healthy functions of the system.—
This object, Dr. Spohn’s remedy is eminently cal
culated to attain. The truth of this position can
not be controverted, and the sooner sufferers with
a headache become convinced of it, the sooner will
their sufferings end in restoration of health. Dr.
Spohn pledges his professional reputation on this
fact. The remedy may he had of apothecaries
generajy throughout the United States.

The greatest Botanic discovery ever made.
FINHE proprietor of tlie Dulcamara respectfully
JL informs the citizens of Georgia, and the pub
lic in general, that he has ipencil an office at No.
290 Broad-street, Augusta, two doors above La
fayette Hall, for the saieof his Vegetable Dulcamara
of the South, or Indian Panacea Superior—A cure
for consumption, asthma, cougl s, colds, catarrhal
affections, rheumatism, gout, palsy,dropsy,cramps,
cholics, dyspepsia, liver complaints, scrofula, mercu

weakness, decays of nature, in c. iic. From the
nature and preparation of the Dulcamara —the cures
performed, and the good it has already done, and
continues to do from day to day —the proprietor has
the happiness to state that it has proved one of the
most useful and beneficial remedies for the cure of
all those diseases above enumerated, that has ever
been offered to the public. And as a proof of the
high estimation in which the Dulcamara is held,
several gentlemen have purchased atone time, a
dozen bottles of it, and many gentlemen of the
Faculty have also recommended and liberally pa
tronized it. It is therefore to be hoped, now that
the greatest liotanie discovery ever made, fur the
relief and cure of every chronic disease, has been
fully realized and tested with the utmost success,
and the happiest results, thatpersons instead of ex
pending an estate upon Sarsaparilla syrups and
compound bitters, together with the pills and com
mon panaceas of the day, would avail themselves
of the advantages of the Dulcamara, and he cured
at a moderate expense, with a very few bottles of
this pleasant, most efficacious and best of all medi
cated Syrups. Combining in its composition noth
ing but vegetable substances, it can be taken by all
ages and sexes, infants as well as adults, with the
most perfect safety. The proprietor deems it a
duty he owes to the public, and to himself, in jus
tice to his medicine to slate, that in the short space
of twenty-seven months he has sold upwards of five
thousand bottles of his Dulcamara. In which time
it has performed some of the most splendid cures
that have ever been effected, and won the proud
distinction of being considered the greatest Resto
rative in the world.
The following are the unsolicited certificates of
a number of individuals who have been cured by
the Dulcamara. Many persons also afflicted for
years with consumption, asthma, coughs, colds,
rheumatism, liver complaints, dyspepsia, cancers,
leprosy, and the worst kinds of scrofula, with va
rious other chronic diseases, who have been cured
by the Dulcamara, are ready at any time to authen
ticate the facts.
I do hereby certify, that about two months ago, I
had an affection of the nose with considerable pain
and inflammation in one nostril, which at length
became an alarming sore, which I have no doubt
would have terminated in polypus or cancer, were
I not fortunately persuaded to try a bottle of Mr.
Veitch’s Vegetable Dulcamara. I purchased from
the proprietor two bottles which performed a per
fect cure. In addition to which, a troublesome ul
ceration on the lip was removed at the same time.
SAMUEL D. CAMEUON.
Charleston, March 21st, 1838.
I deem it a duty I owe to myself, to the world
and to humanity, to state in unqualified terms what I
has transpired under my immediate inspection. Two
colored persons having been afflicted, the one for
seven and the other for the last three years, with
the most violent coughs I ever witnessed in my
life, so much so, that a state of exhaustion and en
tire prostration of strength succeeded each lit of
coughing. Three bottles of the Vegetable Dulca
mara of the South were sent for and taken accord
ing to the directions, which restored them to per
fect health. THOMAS COUSINS.
Charleston, April 10th, 1837.
Dear sir—l called at your office a few weeks
ago, for the purpose of getting some alum for my
sore mouth, which was dreadfully ulcerated, and
which occasioned the most severe pain for some
time previous. By your recommendation 1 bought
a bottle of the Vegetable Dulcamara, which cured
me before I had finished the bottle. I therefore
take this opportunity of recommending it to those
who may be afflicted in the same way. A. B.
Charleston, April 13th, 1537.
This certificate will show that three or four
months ago, I was seized with a severe rheumatic
affection. Many of my limbs were much swollen
and I suffered the most excruciating pain. 1 tried
external applications to no purpose. At last 1 was
advised to try a bottle of Mr. Veitch’s Vegetable
Dulcamara. I bought abott'e of it, which soon re
duced the swelling, the pains ceased, and I was re
stored to health. N. CRANSTON.
Charleston, April 11th, 1838.
This certifies that 1 was afflicted for some two or
three years, with a distressing cough, which no
nostrum applied produced any relief. Finding my
self failing I called on Dr. Veitch of this city, drug
gist, for the purpose of trying the Ralsam, British
Cough Drops, when I was persuaded to try a bottle
of the Vegetable Dulcamara. 1 did so, and am
happy to state that two bottles of it has entirely re
moved the above complaint.
(JHAS. P. CHAPMAN, 162 King-street.
I do hereby certify that my son, a lad of IGycars
old, was taken nine weeks since, with a severe cold,
and most violent rheumatic affection, which con
fined him to his bed, for three weeks, duringwhich
time, he suffered the most excruciating pain in his
limbs, which were also very much swollen. Many
remedies that were thought of at the time, were
tried without relief. At length I sent for a bottle
of the Vegetable Dulcamara of the South, which
was given according to the directions, with the
happiest effects. I was induced in consequence of
this, to try more of it, and purchased two bottles of
it, which have restored his health.

Charleston, S. C., April ISth, 1837.
To the Public. —l have been afflicted for the last
four years with the asthma; the attacks of which
disease, at times, have been uncommonly severe
and distressing. 1 have had recourse to the most
approved remedies for this complaint and have only
had temporary relief. Some months since, I made
up my mind to try Dr. Veitch’s Vegetable Dulca
mara, and accordingly commenced the use of it. I
soon found to my satisfaction that this invaluable
medicine afforded relief every time I took it, and
which 1 pronounce to be the best expectorant I j
have over tried. 1 have persevered in the use of
it, until I have so far regained my health, as only
to require the medicine occasionally. The attacks
of the disease are now less frequent, and much
milder than formerly, and I can confidently recom
mend it to those similarly situated, as the best med
icine for asthma ever discovered. 1 take this op
portunity aloof saying, that the Dulcamara has
strengthened my chest, and improved my health
generally, by invigorating the constitution.

Charleston, June 2Sth, 1837.
I hereby certify that for several months past, I
have been afflicted with chronic, sore mouth, and
also with swellings in various parts of the body,
accompanied at times, with acute pains. I have

complaints, and my health entirely restored.

Charleston, June 22d, 1837.
To the Public —Having been a victim to the
asthma for the last twenty years, I deem it a duty
publicly to say, that after trying every thing for
that disease, without any relief, I called at Air.
Veitch’s and bought a bottle of his Vegetable Dul

duced to buy another bottle, which has relieved me
of that distressing complaint, and improved my
health in every other respect.

To the Public. —l do hereby certify, that some

Charleston, 28th, 1837.
Dear sir—l called at your shop about two months
ago,and purchased from you a bottle of your Dul
camara, for the purpose of trying what relief I
could get from it for the rheumatism, with which I
have been afflicted for some time past. It gives
megreat pleasure to assure you, that after parta
king the one bottle according to the directions, I
find mysclfnow as well as ever I was in my life. —
I must also inform you that for two years 1 have
been troubled with the asthma and a distressing
cough, which your Dulcamara has entirely cured ■ —
I have taken the Indian Panacea and other medi
cines, for the above comp aims, without relief. If
this certificate is of any use to you, publish it for
the good of those who may be similarly situated.
Yours, &c., with respect.

Charleston, 13th July, 1837.
Notice. —This will certify that for years having
been afflicted with a severe cotcjlt and pulmonary
affection, attended with excruciating pain in the
side, I had exhausted every thing in medicine that
I thought could he of any serv ice—all to no pur
pose ; 1 had given Cosby’s Hitters and the liritish
Cough Balsam, with other medicines and Panaceas
of the day, a fair trial, but found no benefit what
ever from any of them. Having been now confined
to my bed for a length of time, and considering my
case desperate, I heard of Dr. Vietch’s Vegetable
Dulcamara of the South and determined to try a
bottle of it. Two or three bottles of this delight
lul purifying Syrup acted as a restorative, and soon
put me on my feet again. WM. UKMLEY.
