HEADACHE, SICK Oil NERVOUS.
The extraordinary reputation that Ur. Spofn’s
remedy for this distressing complaint is every (ay
1 gaining, is certainly a matter of much astonishment.
That so much sulfering should have existed or
1 ages without any discovery of an effectual preven
-1 live, or cure, is truly a subject of much regret, hut
Ur. S. now assures the public that such a remety
' has been invented as will convince the mostcrcdi
lous. The principles upon which it acts arc simpie
| and plain. It is an admitted fact that this com
plaint, whether ca led sick headache, or nervous
! headache, arises primarily from the stomach —those
who think they have the nervous headache may
rest assured that this organ, the stomach, is the first
cause ; that the system has become vitiated or debi -
tated, through the stomach, and that only through
the same channel must they expect a restoration of
, the natural and healthy functions of the system. —
This object, Ur. Spohn’s remedy is eminently cal
culated to attain. The truth of this position can
not be controverted, and the sooner sufferers with
a headache become convinced of it, the sooner wiil
their sufferings end in restoration of health. Ur.
Spohn pledges his professional reputation on this
fact. The remedy may be had of apothecaries

JAYNK’S INDIAN KXI’IK ;TOKANT*
IS recommended as decidedly superior to any oth

Joids, Influenza, Consumption, Asthma, spitting of
blood, Angima Pectoris—Palpitation of the heart,
Bronchitis; Chronic Pleurisy, Hoarseness, Difficulty
of Breathing, Hooping Cough,Pains and Weakness
/' the Breast, and all diseases of the Pulmonary
Organs.
This medicine is highly and justly recommended,
by numerous and respectable individuals, who have
found relief from its use. Many who have been
laboring under protracted Coughs and Pains in the
breast, and have been i I pposed by themselves and
their friends far advanced in Consumption, have
been happily restored to perfect health by the use
f t lis valuable Expectorant.
The Rev, C. C. P. Crosby, late Agent of the Ameri
can Baptist, writes as follows;
New Yokk, June Id, 1835.
To Dr. Jayne—Heav Sir, —I have made use of the
Indian Expectorant, personally and in my family,
for the last six years, with great benefit. Indeed X
may consider my life prolonged by the use ol this
valuable medicine, under the blessing of God, for
several years. 1 may say almost as much in the
case of my wife, and also of the Uev. Mr. Tinson,
of the Island of Jamaica. For all cases ot cough,
inflammation of the ('host, lungs and throat, 1 do
most unhesitatingly recommend this as the best
medicine 1 have ever tried. My earnest wish is,
lhatothers afflicted as I have been, may experience
the same relief, which 1 am persuaded they will, by
using the Indian Expectorant.
C. C. P. CROSBY.
N. B.—Many of my neighbors, on my recommen
lation, have tried this medicine with uniform suc
cess. (Mr. Crosby’s present residence is near Eliz
abethtown, N. J.)
Hereby certify that 1 was cured of a violent
lough and pain in my breast by using Ur. Jayne’s
Expectorant medicine. My wife also was afflicted
vith a bad cough and pain in her breast, attended
with so much difficulty of breathing as to prevent
her from getting any sleep for a number of nights in
succession ; but by taking two doses of this medi
cine she was enabled to sleep quietly through the
eight, and in a few days, hy continuing its use, she
was perfectly cured. JACOB RIDGEWAY.

Her cough liarrassed her day and night, and her dis

little sleep for many days and nights together.—-
None if the medicines she took appeared to be of

restored icr to health. She firmly believes it is the

for which no medicine that 1 had tried afforded any

to inform you, that the use of that one bottle entire

return of it since. From a fair rrial of this medi

and inflammation in one nostril, which at length
became an alarming sore, which I have no doubt
would have terminated in polypus of cancer, were
1 not fortunately persuaded to try a bottle of Mr. |
Veitch’s Vegetable Dulcamara. I purchased from j
the proprietoi two bottles which performed a per
feet cure. In addition to which, a troublesome ul- |

I deem it a duty 1 owe to myself, to the world (
and to humanity, to state in unqualified terms what i
has transpired under my immediate inspection. Two i
colored persons having been afflicted, the one for <
seven and the other for the last three years, with i
the most violent coughs I ever witnessed in my |
life, so much so, that a state of exhaustion and en
tire prostration of strength succeeded each lit of i
coughing. Three buttles of the Vegetable Dulca- i
mara of the South were sent for and taken accord
ing to the directions, which restored them to per- '
feet health. THOMAS COUSINS. t
Charleston, April 10th, 1837.
Dear sir—l called at your office a few weeks 1
ago, for the purpose of getting some alum for my
sore mouth, which was dreadfully ulcerated, and
which occasioned the most severe pain for some
time previous. By your recommendation 1 bought
a bottle of the Vegetable Dulcamara, which cured
me before I had finished the bottle. 1 therefore i
take this opportunity of recommending it to those
who may be afflicted in the same way. A. 13
Charleston, April 13th, 1537.
This certificate will show that three or four
months ago, I was seized with a severe rheumatic
affection. Many of my limbs were much swollen
and 1 suffered the most excruciating -pain. I tried
external applications to no purpose. At last I was
advised to try a bottle of Mr. Veitch’s Vegetable
Dulcamara. 1 I ought ahotfe of it, which soon re
duced the swelling, the pains ceased, and 1 was re
stored to health. N. CRANSTON.
Charleston, April 11th, IS3B.
This certifies that 1 was afflicted for some two or
three years, with a distressing cough, which no
nostrum applied produced any relief. Finding my
self failing 1 called on Dr. Veiteh of this city, drug
gist, fur the purpose of trying the Balsam, British
Cough Drops, when I was persuaded to try a bottle
of the Vegetable Dulcamara. 1 did so, and am
happy to state that two bottles of it has entirely re
moved the above complaint.
CHAS. l>. CHAPMAN, 162 King-street.
1 do hereby certify that my son, a lad of IGyears
old, was taken nine weeks since, with a severe cold,
and most violent rheumatic affection, which con
fined him to his bed, for three weeks, duringwhich
time, he suffered the most excruciating pain in his
limbs, which were also very much swollen. Many
remedies that were thought of at the time, were
tried Without relief. At length I sent for a bottle
of the Vegetable Dulcamara of the South, which
was given according to the directions, with the
happiest effects. I was induced in consequence of
this, to try more of it, and purchased two bottles of
it, which have restored his health.

Charlesion, S. C., April 18th, 1537,
To the Public .—l have been afflicted for the last
tour years with the asthma; the attacks of which
disease, at times, have been uncommonly severe
and distressing. I have had recourse to the most
approved remedies for this complaint and have only
had temporary relief. Some months since, I made
up my mind to try Dr. Veitch’s Vegetable Dulca
mara, and accordingly commenced the use of it. I
soon found to my satisfaction that this invaluable
medicine afforded relief every time 1 took it, and
which 1 pronounce to be the best expectorant I
have ever tried. I have persevered in the use of
it, until I have so far regained my health, as only
to require the medicine occasionally. The attacks
of the disease are now less frequent, and much
milder than formerly, and I can confidently recom
mend it to those similarly situated,as the best med
icine for asthma ever discovered. I take this op
portunity aloof saying, that the Dulcamara has
strengthened my chest, and improved my health
generally, by invigorating the constitution.

of that distressing complaint, and improved my

Notice. —This will certify that for years having
been afflicted with a severe cough and pulmonary
affection, attended with excruciating pain in the
side, I had exhausted every thing in medicine that
1 thought could be of any service—all to no pur
pose ; I had given Cosby’s Bitters and the British
Cough Balsam, with other medicines and Panaceas
of the day, a fair trial, but found no benefit what
ever from any of them. Having been now confined
to my bed for a length of time, and considering my
case desperate, I heard of Dr. Vietch’s Vegetable
Dulcamara of the South and determined to try a
bottle of it. Two or three bottles of this delight
ful purifying Syrup acted as a restorative, and soon
put me on toy- teet again. WM, RE.VJLEY.
