GEORGIA LIME tVOIIKS.
riNHE subscribers respectfully inform the public
I that they have commenced the manufactory of
LIME near Jacksonhorough,in Striven county,Ga.
They have extensive quarries of Limestone, which
is considered by professor J. R. Lotting, State Geol
ogist, to whom the proprietors are indebted for the
information which induced them to embark in the
undertaking, to be of the very purest kind. They
have consequently erected large and substantial
Kilns in the most approved manner, and procured
men from the North who are perfectly acquainted
with the business. A portion of the Lime is now in
mancetand has been pronounced hy the principal
builders in the neighborhood of Augusta, and others,
to be of excellent quality. The subscribers take
pleasure in inviting those who take an interest in
the dcvelopement of the internal resources of Geor
gia, to examine it, being convinced that the whole
United States cannot produce a more beautiful arti
cle.
They have now a quantity on hand, which thev
will deliver at the mouth of Brier Creek on tne Sa
vannah river, or at Augusta. Having extensive
preparations in progress, they expect to lie able du
ring the next winter andspring to supply orders to a
very large amount ; and they have every reason to
believe that they will entitle themselves to the favor
and patronage of the public by producing a cheaper
and better article at home than can he found
abroad.

of AtU rney to John L. Baker, then of Augusta and
now of Athens, Ga ,for the special purpose of John
L. Baker’s immediate attendance to the settlement
of and removal to certain lands situated in said Dis
trict. Said power was given on the back of an in
strument conveying said lands to the undersigned.
Said Baker in consideration of his personal servi
ces was promised a share in the enterprise. In
stead of fulfilling the expectations of the under

fect a sale of said lands, which attempt however
was timely discovered by the undersigned to pre
vent any act, and the Power of Attorney was then
at once redernanded, as well as the plats of said
lands which he had in his possession. Said Baker
promised to return them, but instead of doing so, he

signed, to whom he left a verbal message that the
pipers would not be returned except that such
share of said lands was given to him, as bad been
promised if he had actually undertaken what the
undersigned intended him to do. Said Baker not
having the least claim upon the undersigned of any ]
nature whatever, and having manifested his inten
tion to adopt a very useless course, is hereby pub
licly deprived of all power to act for the under
signed, and the power of Attorney extended to him
is formally recalled, as it was some months ago
viva voce. The public is moreover cautioned not |
to purchase any lands of said Baker upon his as
sumed authority, as no titles will be given ; and ,
the necessary communication has been made in the j
district where the records aie kept, and said lands
are situated. EDWARD DELIUS.
