Cj* HIGHLY IMPORTANT.
Nervous diseases, liver complaint, bilious dis
eases, piles, rheumatism, consumption, coughs,
colds, pain in the chest and side, ulcers, all deli
cate and mercurial disca-es are successfully treated
at Dr. EVANS’S Cilice, 100 Chatham-street, New-
York.
DR. WILLIAM EVANS’ MEDICINES,
Arc composed of vegetable substances, which exert
a specific action upon the heart, give an impulse or
strength to the arterial system ; the blood is quick
ened and equalized in its circulation through all the
vessels, whether of tlie skin, the narts situated in
ternally, or the extremities ; and as all the secre
tions of the body arc drawn from the blood, there
is a consequent increase of every secretion, and a
quickened action of the absorbent and exhalent, or
discharging vessels. Any morbid a. tion which
may have taken place is corrected, all obstructions
are removed, the blood is puritied, and the body te
sumes a hea thful state.
These medicines after much anxious toil and re
search, having been brought by the proprietor to
the present state of perfection, supersede the use ol
the innumerable other medicines ■, and aie so well
adapted to the frame, that the use of them, by main
taining the body in the due performance of its
functions, and preserving the vital stream in a pure
and healthy state, causes it to last many years long
er than it otherwise would, and the mind to le
comc so composed and tranquil, that o'd age wlr'
it arrives will appear a blessing, and not (a r ‘ 00
many who have neglected their constituti us, or
had them injured by medicines administer by 'S
norance) a source of misery and abhor’-nec.
They are so compounded, that In strengthening
and equalizing the action of the heart, liver, and
other visera, they' expel the fad, acrid or morbid
matter, which renders Hie blood impure, out of the
circulation, through the excretory ducts into the
passage of the bowels, so that by the brisk orslight
evacuations which may be regulated by the doses,
always remembering that while the evacuations
from the bowels are kept up, the excretions fiom all
the other portions of the body will also be going
on in the same proportion, by which means the
blood invariably becomes purified.
Steady perseverance in the use of the medicine
will undoubtedly effect a cure even in the most
acute or obstinate diseases j but in such eases the
dose may beaugmcnted.accordingtolhe inveteracy
of the disease ; the medicines being so admirably
adapted to the constitution, that they may be taken
at all times
In all cases of hypochondriacism, low spirits, pal
pitations ol the heart, nervous irritability, nervous
weakness, lluor alhus, seminal weakness, indiges
tion, loss of appetite, flatulency, heartburn, general
debility, bodily weakness, chlorosis or giecn sick
ness, flatulent or hysterical faintings, hysterics,
headache, hiccup, sea sickness, night-mare, gout,
rheumatism, asthma, tic douloreaux, cramp, spas
modic affections, and those who are victims to that
most cxcrutiating disorder, Gout, will find relief
from their sufferings, by a course of Dr. William
Evans’s Pills.
Nausea, vomiting, pains in the side, limbs, head,
stomach or back, dimness or confusion of sight,
noises in the inside, alternate flushings of heat and
chilliness, tremors, watchings, agitation, anxiety
bad dreams, spasms, will in every case be relieved
by an occasional dose of Dr. Evans’s medicines.
One of the most dangerous epochs to females is
at the change of life; and it is then they require a
medicine which will so invigorate their circulation
and thus strengthen ther constitutions as may ena
ble thorn to withstand the shock.
Those who h ive the care and education of Fe
males, whether the studious or the sedentary part
of the community, should never be without a sup
ply of Dr. Evans’s Pills, which remove disorders
in the bead, invigorate the mind, strengthen the
body, improve the memory, and eliven the imagin
ation.
When the nervous system has been too largely
drawn upon or overstrained, nothing is better to
correct and invigorate the drooping constitution
than these medicines.

ham street, New York, where the Doctor maybe
consulted.
(Jj* A Case of Tic Dolorcnx. <TD
Mrs. J. E. Johnson, wife of Capt. Joseph John
son, of Lynn, Mass., was severely afflicted for ten
years with Tic Doloreux, violcntpa in her head,
and vomiting with a burning heat in the stomach,
and unable to leave her room. She could find no
relief from the advice of several physicians, nor
from medicines of any kind, until after she commen
ced using Dr. Evans’s medicines, of IDO Chatham
street, and from that time she began to amend, and
cels satisfied if she continues the medicine a few
days onger, will be perfectly cured. Ucferenci
can be had as to the truth of the above, by calling
at Mrs. Johnson’s daughter’s store, 359 Grand st

A REAL BLESSING TO MOTHERS.
Dr. Wm. Evans’ Celebrated Soothing Syrup
for Children Cutting their Teeth.
This infallible remedy has preserved hundreds o
children, when thought past recovery, from con
vulsions. As soon as the Syrup is rubbed on the
gurtvs, the child will recover. I bis preparation is
so inhocent, so efflcacious, and so pleasant that no
child will refuse to let its gums be rubbed with it.
When infants are at the age of four months, though
there is no appearance of teeth, one bottle ot the
Syrup should be used on the gums to open the
pores. Parents should never be without the Syrup
in the nursery where there are young children ; for
if a child wakes in the night with pain in the
gums, the Syrup immediately gives case by open
ing tho pores and healing the gums ; thereby pre
ventingconvulsions. fevers, See.

THE LIMESTONE AND CIIALY
n jj, BEATE SPRINGS, Spartanburg Dis
,,fy trict,S.C. ninety-live miles fromCbarles
—PCl ton, and fifty from Greenville.
The undersigned has the pleasure to inform the
public, that the elegant and extensive accommoda
tions prepared for the recepti in of visitors at this
place, w>)l be entirely finished bv the 10tli of dune
next. IT mi three to four hundred persons can be
aceommoda cd—comfortable and airy looms are
prepared for faniiles in the large brick building, oi
i ptefc red, fine apartments will be assigned to
them in the dilferent Cotta, cs.
There is an abundant supplr of Ice, Wines, &c.
on hand Amusements of every bind will be with
in the reach of visito s. The country around the
Springs admits of a variety of excursions, on horse
back or in carriages.
The Limestone Spring is a highly medicinal
water. In add tion to Lime, there is found Magne
sia and Epsom Salts in it s and the great quantity
of Carbonic acid gas, constantly escaping from the
Spring, renders the water very light. To Dyspe i.
tics, and persons laboring under liver comp aints,or
of constipated habits, experience enables us to say
that this water is inva uah c. If any visitor labor
ing under any of these diseases has ever visited
the place, and not been bcnclilted, it is to us un
known. There arc two line Chalybeate Springs,
one rising out of the Limestone (Quarry, and the
other a short distance below it. In addition to Iron,
they are supposed by many to contain other active
ingredients. Since they have been discovered, they
have been found to be very beneficial to many
weak and debilitated persons.
The grounds about the Springs are beautifully
laid out, and afford many tine and delightful walks.
Several intelligent and respectable gentlemen
have settled permanently at the Springs, and con
stitute at all times a delightful society. They have
made their setl.emcnts with a two-fold object,
health and the education of their children. For
this latter purpose they have established two ex
cellent schools—a Male Academy, under the di
rection of Mr. Uoosa, and a Female Academy un
derthe care of Miss Williams. Roth schools merit
every encouragement —they are well conducted,
and imparting to their icspectivc pupils, sound and
good education. Famili: s visiting the Springs, will
have the opportunity of placing their children in
these excellent schoo s. Mr. Saunicr, will teach
Music during the summer months, his qualifications
are equal to any instruction which may be required.
A competent instructor or instructress in Dancing,
is expected, and wil. be certainly in attendance to
instruct all who may desire it
These are some of the inducements which arc pre
sented to the public, to favor the Limestone Springs
with their patronage. When it is remembered that
this establishment owes its foundation to the liberal
ity and patriotism of many gentlemen who have
advanced large sums of money for the purpose of
presenting to the people of South Carolina and
Georgia, a place of health and relaxation, almost at
their own doors, it is to be hoped that it will not
languish, decline and die for the wantof patronage.
The thousands expended in Northern travelling
may be saved, and the people of the seaboard and
he mountains may enjoy all the mutual benefit of
travel and inter' ourse.
To the religious public the undersigned would
say, (hat gaming and all such gross irregularities as
would he offensive to them, are prohibited at this
establishment. Arrangements are in progress for
having divine service on every sabbath, which we
hope and believe wiilbesuccessful. Persons can be
as private, secluded and ictircdas they please.
For Dyspeptics and invalids a separate table will
lie prepared, where they can have every accommo
dation they may require.
The universally admitted salubrity of the cli
mate, together with the immense mineral produc
tions of the neighborhood, will open a Held for spec
ulation and amusement for leisure travellers.
In addition to the above inducements, we have
six arrivals and departures of mails, each week.—
Accommodation Stages to Greenville, twice a week,
and after the Ist of Ju’y there will be a Hark to
I nion,un every Wednesday, to meet the Columbia
stage.
To sportsmen it may be lome inducement to know
that we have one of the most beautiful race tracks
in the State, where there will be a number of horses
in training from the first of Juy, until the commence
ment of the races on the first Tuesday in October.

TO-THE PUBLIC.
IN an advertisement that 1 inserted in theChron
iele and Sentinel, of the 15th hist., I stated
that suspicions of the robbery of my store rusted on
a gentleman by the name of Thomas S. Mood. In
making that statement I was mistaken and misled
by the evil advice of another person. I have not
myself now, nor have 1 ever had any just grounds
of suspicion againsfMr. Mood, and I lake this pub
lic manner of retracting, without qualification or re
servation, the charge which 1 was unwillingly
made the instrument of propagating against him.
The absence of Mr. Mood; for a few days from the
city, on business, served to lead me, through the
influence of a malicious adviser, to cast suspicions
upon him. But I take pleasure in correcting the
charge, and request any paper which may have
published my advertisement to give this notice
three publications in their papers and immediately
sloji the advertisement alluded to.
