LE CORDIAL DE LUCINe7~
OU L’ELIXIR DE L’AMOUR.
rjNHE subscriber has the pleasure ul announcing
JL to the ciiizensof the U. Stales, that he has
purchased, for a very targe .sum ond from the in
ventor, the celebrated Dr. Mngnin, ol Paris, tie
recipe ardrivht for making this astonishing medi
cine. Until the appearance of the " Lucitia Cor
dial, ’’ (about three years since,) it wns thought that
|he complaints, which it speedily overcomes, were
beyond the reach of human remedy, ns for upwards '.
of a thousand yinrs. they had liajffed the wisdom '
and ingenuity oi the most profound physicians in
all pans ol the world. Tina Cordial, however, to (
Ihc great advantage of the human race, toon proved ,
ilsoll to he tho desideratum so long sought tor ; and .
accordingly, notwithstanding tl e briel period of its 1
existence, it has required a celebrity so great, that :j
it is eagerly inquired tor throughout the civilized j
globe. Dr. Magnin soon finding that the demand
was so vast aa .0 render a supply impossible, dis
posed of the recipe and right ol sale, under obliga
tions of secrecy, far England, the United Shales,
and other countries, only preserving France and
Italy for himself. Thus las the subscriber pos
sessed himself of the invaluable secret ; and now
hastens to give the inhabitants of his line of agency
the benefits of his speculation.
11 le Cordial He Lucine,” or, in English, “tho
Lucira Cordial,” isn gont-ral iimgorator of the
human frame! In nil I lie various eases of languor,
lass. Hide, and debilitation ; it is an unfailing reme
dy ; as it is equally its province to impart cheerful
ness ami decision to the mind, as health and vigor
to the body But the peculiar virtue on which tl«
celebrity is based, is the facility and certainty with
which it restores the virile powers when they have
been destroyed by discaae.urne,recklessness,or any
of the numerous pauses which terminate in the
prostration of 1 hose 1 functions.
In common with the generality of really good
medicines, this Cordial contains nothing of a mer
curial or deleterious nature, among the many ingre
dients which compose it ; butisfiil the same time, ;
so simple, yet so efficacious, that while it can reno- j
vote the prostrated energies of a giant, an infant
may use it,not only witli impunity, but with ad -
vantage.
The usages of society are unfortunately such ,
that, notwithstanding the benefits which would bis
sure to resultfrora it, weennnotonler into an imaly -
sis ol this ineitimabie Cordial here, or publish ninn y
of the documents which have been received, ns
vouchers of 1110 hie? sings 11 has conferred on mmi
t ers of despairing individuals. But this wc cannot
forbear remarking—that 11 has been demonstrated
that there is scarcely ever, it any such thing at all,
as natural barsjniiess, or as natural imbecility of
the proerennl fuActiona, ineithersex ; and therefore,
that these evils qro the effects of artificial causes,
mid may. he si 'edily subdued and removed by the
use ol “ Le Cordial do Lucine.”
The Lucina Cordial is also an indubitable cure
for the Gleet, and the Eluor Allies, obstructed, diffi
cult, or painful Menstruation ; also, for the ineon
tinence ol Urine, or the involuntary discharge there
of It is likewise an invaluable and unrivalled
medicine in cases of Chronic Eruptions of tlioskin,
and in the dropsical affections of the aged.
Most important to the American Public.
The United States proprietor of the celebrated
“ Lucina Cordial,” or “ Elixir of Love,” begs to lay
before the community, the following certificate,
w hich ho lias received from the inventor, the illus
trious Ur. Magnin, of Paris :
“ Thii is to certify, that I have disposed of the
reci e for making the “Lucina Cordial,” or .

ablest medical practitioners in France.
To Dr. Magnin, inventor of the Lucina Cordial, or i
Elixir of Love.
Respected and Honored Sir:—We have all in a .
variety of r ases, tested the remarkable effects of
yourgreat discovery, and have assembled lor the
purpose of beating evidence to the facts, and tend
ering yoo the honor which is your due. The
“ Lucina Cordial” is in our opinion, an infallible :
remedy for the prostration of the I’rocrcant Func
tions, and Artificial Barrenness : and therefore must
prove a blessing to the human race. We can alsu
hear evidence that there is nothing in it of a mer
curial or deleterious nature ; and in short, that it is
oneof the noblest medicinal discoveriesofany ago.
Witli feelings of admiration and respect wo re

Extractor c letter from the elebruled Talleyrand,
to Dr. Magnin.
1 am now on the wrong side of eighty, and yet I
could be on my honor or oath if necessary, that a
botlleurtwo of your Cordial of Love has made me
feel as vigorous as a boy of five and twenty. I
think you have discovered the “Elixir of Life,”
which the alchymists have been so long in quest ol ;
am’, that (pardon rny offieiousness,) you should have
named it accordingly.
From tho eminent Dr, Devigney, of Brussels.
October 3, 1837.
To Dr. Magnin;—My dear friend—l am most
gratified at ihe unprecedented popularity of your
“Lucina Cordial,” and am able to bear testimony to
its surprising virtue, f had a patient recently,
I M , a gentleman ol fortune, who hud lor
several years abandoned himself in the vortex of
dissipation ; and was only reclaimed from it at
length by the utter prostration of all his virileener
g.'es. He was, indeed, reduced to the last extremity
of debility and 1 istelessness, for, if an occasional
fle ;h of excileme.it warmed his system, the reac
tion was almost immt dime, and the result perfect
prostration. I had applied all tho usual nostrums
in such cases; hut, as I had anticipated, w.thout
success; and when I saw the “Lucina Cordial”
advertised,! must confess that even the great weight
of your name did not gwe rnc much hope in it, at
least so far as regarded the case in hand. I felt
bound to try it,howev: r, and was soon satisfied of
Us efficacy; for before a bottle was expended, my
patient gave evidence of tho returning elasticity of
his sysb it; and lie is now, hiving used four bottles,
as well is ever.
The. number of documents, such as the above
which have been received by Mr. Magnin, since the
first appearance of “ Lo Cordial de Lucine,” would
fill a volume us largo aa the Bible.
