4 GREAT BARGAIN—The subscriber oilers

containing6l7 acres more or less, of oak and hick
ory lands, about twenty three miles from the city .
of Augusta, adjoining lands of Judge Luke, Win. |
H. Luke, George W. Tooles, Culhrath Si Duns. It I
is considered by all the neighbors to possess the
best springs of water of any in the neighborhood or
elsewhere in the county, the water being perfectly
pure, cold and refreshing, and as for health not to
be surpassed by any situation in the county, as a
summer’s residence, it is as pleasant as any would
desire, being free from mosquitos, sand-llies, and
other insects, that disturb the rest at night; it has
a good one story frame dwelling, 40 feet by 20, with
two shed rooms with brick foundation, and kitchen
underneath, situated on an elevated and airy situa
tion ; also, a nearly new gin-house and running
gecr. with all other necessary out buildings, toge
ther with a fine peach and apple orchard. There
is somewhat more than half the land cleared,
the greater part of which is in cultivation ; the soil
and climate is well calculated for the produce of
corn and cotton, or any other produce, and none
better suited for the cu tore of the Morns Multi
caulis, or any other spec cs of the mulberry, as
about one half of the land is of loose grey soil, and
the other half of the mulatto soil. Possession to
be given on the first day of January. My terms
art $lO per acre, to be paid in three equal annual
instalments, with notes and approved endorsers, if
not paid when due to draw interest from date.—
Tit’es indisputable. Those persons desirous of
purchasing, will cal! on the subscriber at his resi
dence on Green-street, Augusta, or on his overseer
Mr. John liriscoe, on the plantation, who will con
duct them over the premises,

mo all those whom it may concern, and espe-
I dally those who arc desirous of embarking in
the growth of Silk ; be it known that in the early
part of this past spring, being determined to make
a permanent business of it, 1 visited, in person, the
North, for the purpose of obtaining the best Silk
Worm Eggs, and frommylacilities for information,
I am induced to bo.ievc that 1 procured as good as
could be had, perhaps in any section of the country,
and this season 1 have been employed in feeding
about two hundred and fifty thousand worms. I
shall therefore have a good supply of Eggs for sale
by the first of July, which may he bought at any 1
time during the present year. I have the Yellow,
the Sulphur, the -Mammoth White, and a few of the J
two crop or small worm. The eggs of the last I
purchased from Mr. Plant, of Augusta. I will sell
on as reasonable and accommodating terms a, any
one. Orders specifying the quantity and kind
wanted wiil meet with prompt attention. There
may be some who suppose it to be all important ro
feed on the multicaulis, to such I would say that 1
have fed entirely this season on the native mul
berry, and from experience, 1 find that the worm
w'ill do well on them. 1 have seen sewing silk
made from the native mulberry of a superior qual
ity, and it is my opinion that ihe multicaulis will
add nothing to the health and prosperity of the
worm, yet 1 believe that the texture of the silk
produced Irom the multicaulis will be somewhat
superior, and that the use of it will save much
trouble and some expense. And now, as a native
Georgian, suffer me to say to my countrymen, that
the raisingof Silk is i.ot such a humbug as some
suppose, hut will hear the test of close calculation,
in tiie which it will prove to be much more lucra
tive and less laborious than the culture of cotton,
and in all probability will remain so for many
years. ANSEL M. ALBRITTON.

ATTENTION !
PEOPLE of all nations, of all religious denoini •
nations, and of all occupations :
You arc hereby respectfully invited to attend a
sale on the twenty-third day of July next, at 11
o’clock, in the forenoon, of the lots of the new town
of Summerville, Chattooga County, Georgia.
This town is situated on a gently undulating piece
of ground in the enchanting valley of Chattooga
River,on its western Rank, having Taylor’s exten
sive ridge of mountains, in beautiful prospect to the
East, ami lofty spurs of the Lookout mountain to
the West. Immediately at the northwest end of
the Town, is a beautiful blue limestone spring, is- !
suing several hogsheads of the most limpid water 1
per minute, and upon the northeastern part of the J
town, several other fountains are to he found, which j
have never ceased to issue pure ami limpid water. I
Here the dyspeptic who lias found nostrums and
learned doctors’ means ineffectual, may come in the
certainty of the use of those waters, and inhaling 4
the atmosphere of the most healthful section of 1
country upon our Globe, radically healing his im- )
paired digestive organs. We would, therefore, j
especially invite the dyspeptic, and all those who ]
desire to keep free from this fashionable disease, '
to come and purchase lots or farms in the vicinity. ’
The lots arc admirably sized and shaped, for mcr- j
chants’stores and dwellings, mechanic’s workshops, .j
their dwellings and gardens, the floriculturist, and
last not least the silk culturist. lie re the merchant
may vend a reasonable amount of goods, at fair
profits; the house joiner, the brick and stone mason,
he carriage maker, the black and whitesmith, the
watchmaker and the tailor, may get profitable em
ployment, in their respective line of business.
A seminary of high order, for the education of
females, is about being established in the vicinity
of this place, and theearliestattenlion will be given
to the establishment of a male academy.
We regret the inadequacy of our humble pen to
describe nature’s best effort for the grandeur of sce
nery of the surrounding country of this enchanting
spot; it would take the pen of a Cooper, ora
Symrncs, to do justice to the subject.
Jetton, small grain, and silk, will he the staples
of this country, and believe him not, who will tell
you, that the Georgia mountain valleys wiil not
produce as much cotton per acre, as the best la ids
in Morgan, Greene, Jefferson or Burke counties.
The terms of sale will be one-fifth cash, the j
residue in equal instalments at six, twelve, eighteen I
and twenty-four months. Purchasers giving their
notes, which, on being paid, perfected titles will be

THE LIMESTONE AND CIIAtT
mHIUTE SPRINGS, Spartanburg Dis

ton, anil fifty from Greenville,
ittersigned has the pleasure to inform the
public, that the elegant ami extensive accommoda
tions prepared for tlia reception of visitors at this
place, will he entirely finished by the 10th of Juna
next. From three to four hundred persons can bo
accommodated; —comfortable and airy rooms arc
prepared for familes in the large brick building, 01
if preferred, line apartments will hs assigned lo
them in the ditFerent Cottages.
There is an abundant supply of Ire, Wines, ke. i
on hand. Amusements of every kind will be with
in the teach of visitors. The country around the
Springs admits of a variety of excursions, on horse
lack or in carriages.
Tie Limestone Spring is a highly medicinal
water. In add tiun to Lime, there is found .Magne
sia uni Epsom Salts in it ; and the great-quantity
of Carbonic acid gas, constantly escaping from tiic.
Spring, renders the water very, light. To Dyspe A.
tics,and persons laboring under liver complaints,or I
of constipated habits, experience enables us to say !
that this water i> invaiuahie. If any visitor labor- I
ing under any of these disaar.es has. ever visited 1
the place; and not been benehlted, it is to us un
known. 'There are two line Chalybeate Springs,
one rising put of the Limestone Quarry, and the
other a slWtdlfTanrp below it. in addition to Iron,
they ace supposed by many to contain other active
ingredients. Since they have been discovered, they
have been found to be very beneficial to many
weak and debilitated persons.
'ThegroiindvabQnt the Springs are beautifully
laid out, and atford many (ine ami delightful walks.
. Several intelligent and respectable gentlemen
I have settled permanently at the Springs, and con
stitute at.all times a delightful society. They have
made'their settlements with a two-fold object,
health and the education of their children. Tor
thin-latter purpose they have established two ex
cellent schools —a Male Academy, under: tho dir
rectum of Mr. Ream, and a Female Academy un
der the care of Miss-Williams. Uoth schools merit
every encouragement—they are well conducted,
and imparting to their respective pupils, sound and
good udiioation. Families visiting the Springs, will
have the opportunity of placing their children- in
these excellent schoos. Mr. Saunier, will teach j
Music during the summer months, his qualifications
arc equal to any instruction which may be required.
A competent- instructor or instructress in Dancing,
is expected, and will he certainly in attendance to
instruct all who may desire it.
These arc- some of the inducements which are pre
sented to the public, to favor the Limestone Springs
with their patronage. When it is remembered that
this establishment owes its f mudation to the liberal- I
ity and patriotism of many gentlemen who have
advanced large sums of money for the purpose of
presenting to the people of South Carolina and
Georgia, a place of health and relaxation, almost at
their own doors, it is to be hoped that it will not
languish, decline and die for the wantof patronage.
The thousands expended in Northern travelling
may he saved, and the people of tlie seaboard anil
he mountains may enjoy all the mutual benefit of
travel and intercourse.
To the religious public the undersigned would
say, that gaming amlall sueh gross irregularities as
would he oliensive to them, are prohibited at this
establishment. Arrangements are in progress for
having divine service on-vvery sabbath, tv-hieh we
hope and believe vnljhe successful. Persons can bo
as private, secluded and ictired as they please.
For Dyspeptics and invalids a separate table will
he prepared, where they can have every accomnio
datiun they may require.
The universally admitted salubrity of tho cli
mate, together with the immense mineral produc
tions of the neighborhood, will open a field for spec
ulation and amusement for leisure travellers,
in addition to tho übeve inducements, we have
1 si.\ arrivals and departures of mails, each week.—
