EVANS’ FAMILY VEGETABLE APERIENT
ANTI-BILIOUS PILLS.
Being composed of ingredients which exert a
specific action upon the lieart, give an impulse or
strength to tire arteral system ; the blood is quick
ened and equalized in its circulation through all
the vessels, whether of the skin, the [tarts sitaaled
internally, or the extremities; aod as all the se
cretions of tlie body are drawn from the hlmod
there is a consequent increase of every secretion,
and a quickened action of the absorbent and exSia
lant or discharging vessels; any morbid action
which may Iravc taken place is removed, ail ob
structions rue overcome, the blood is purified, and
the body resumes a healthful state. The circula
tion, that important function, was not known to
the great Celsus, Galen, or Hippocrates ; therefore,
their deliciency of knowledge led them to extract
the vital fluid as a curvative means; but upon the
p principles of the circulation of the blood, the prac
tice of bleeding is proved to tie fallacious.
It has been left to the directors of this society
to bring forward Dr. Win. Evans’ Medicines, found
ed upon the important knowledge imparted to the
world by the discovery of the circulation of the
blood.
Evan's Family Vegetable Aperient Anti-Bilious |
Pills, are sold in boxes of Twenty-live cents each. J
MEDICINES
after much anxious 101 l and research, having been
brought by the Directors to their present state of
perfection, supersede the use of the innumerable
other medicines; are so well adapted to the frame,
that the use of them, by pr eserving the vital strength
in a pure and healthy state, and consequently
maintaining the body in tire due performances of
its functions, cause it to last many years longer
than it otherwise would ; and the mind to become
so composed and tranquil that old age when it ar
rives, will appear a blessing and not (as to many
who have neglected their constitutions, or had
them injured by medicines administered by igno
rance) a source of misery and abhorrence.
“Even from the body’s purity, the mind
Beccives a secret sympathetic aid.”

DR. WILLIAM EVANS’ SOOTHING SVRUP,
FOR CHILDREN TEETHING.
To Mothers and Nurses. —The passage of the
Teeth through the gums produces troublesome and
dangerous symptoms. It is known by mothers
that there is great irritation in the mouth and gums
during this process. The gums swell, the secre
tion and saliva is increased, the child is seized with
frequent and sudden tits of crying, watchings,
starting in the sleep, and spasms of peculiar parts;
the child shrieks with extreme violence, and
thrusts its lingers into its mouth. If these [ire
cursory symptoms are not speedily alleviated,
spasmodic convulsions universally supervene, and
” some cause the dissolution of the infant. Mothers
who have their little babes alliicted with these
distressing symptoms should apply DR. W’M.
EVANS’CELEBRATED SOOTHING SYRUP,
which has preserved hundreds of infants when
thought past recovery, from being suddenly at
tacked with the fatal malady,convulsions.

You arc hereby respectfully invited to attend a
sale on the twenty-third day of July next, at 11
o’clock, in the forenoon, of the lots of the new town
of Summerville, Chattooga County, Georgia.
This town is situated on a gently undulating piece
of ground in the enchanting valley of Chattooga
River,on its western Bank, having Taylor’s exten
sive ridge of mountains, in beautiful prospect to the
East, and lofty spurs of the Lookout mountain to *
the West. Immediately at the northwest end of 1
the Town, is a beautiful blue limestone spring, is- 1
suing several hogsheads of the most limpid water
per minute, and upon the northeastern part of the
town, several other fountains, ire to be found, which )
have never ceased to issue pure and limpid water.
Here the dyspeptic who has found nostrums and c
learned doctors’ means ineffectual, may come in the a
certainty of the use of these waters, and inhaling (
the atmosphere of the most healthful section of 1
country upon out Globe, radically healing liis im- a
paired digestive organs. Wo would, therefore, c
especially invite the dyspeptic, and all those who s

hc carriage maker, the black and white smith, the fi
watchmaker and the tailor, may get profitable em- n
ployment, in their respective line of business.
A seminary of high order, for the education of
females, is about being established in the vicinity
of this place, and the earliest attention will be given i
to the establishment of a male academy. 1
We regret the inadequacy of our humble pen to ii

A GREAT BARGAIN—The subscriber oilers
for sale his plantation in Columbia county,
containing 617 acres more or less, of oak and hick
ory lands, about twenty- three milts from the city
of Augusta, adjoining lands of Judge Luke, Wm.
I!. Luke, George W. Toolcs, Culbrath & Duns. It
is considered hy all the neighbors to possess the
best > prings of water of any in the neighborhood or
elsewhere in the county, the water being perfectly
pure, cold and refreshing, and as for health not to
be surpassed by any situation in the county; as a
summer’s residence, it is as pleasant as any would
desire, being free from mosquitos, sand-flies, and
other insects, that disturb the rest at night; it has
a good one story frame dwelling, 40 feet by 20, with
two shed rooms with brick foundation, and kitchen
underneath, situated on an elevated and airy situa
tion ; also, a nearly new gin-honse and running
geer, with all other necessary out buildings, toge
ther with a line peach and apple orchard. There
is somewhat more than half the land cleared,
the greater part of which is in cultivation ; the soil
and climate is well calculated for the produce of
corn and cotton, or any other produce, and none
better suited for the culture of the Morns iMulti
caulis, or any other species of the mulberry, as
about one half of the land is of loose grey soil, and
the other half of the mulatto soil. Possession to
be given on the first day of January. My terms
are $lO per acre, to be paid in three equal annual
instalments, with notes and approved endorsers, if
not paid when due to draw interest from date. —
Tit’es indisputable. Those persons desirous of
purchasing, will call on the subscriber at his resi

duct them over the premises,

a permanent business of it, I visited, in person, the
North, for the purpose of obtaining the best Silk
Worm Eggs, and from my lacilitics for information,
( am induced to be ievc that I procured as good as
could be had, perhaps in any section of the country,
and this season I have been employed ia feeding
about two hundred and fifty thousand worms. 1
shall therefore have a good supply of Eggs for sale
by the first of July, which may he bought at any
time during the present year. ! have the Yellow,
the Sulphur, the .Mammoth White, and a few of the
two crop or small worm. The eggs of the last I
purchased from .Mr. Plant, of Augusta. I will sell
on as reasonable and accommodating terms a- any
one. Orders specifying the quantity and kind
wanted will meet with prompt attention. There
may be some who suppose it to be all important to
feed on the muitieaulis, to such I would say that I
have fed entirely this season on the native mul
berry, and from experience, ( find that the worm
will do well on them. I have seen sewing silk
made from the native mulberry of a superior qual
ity, and it is my opinion that the muitieaulis will
add nothing to the health and prosperity of the
worm, yet I believe that the texture of the silk
produced from the muitieaulis will be somewhat
superior, and-that the use of it will save much
trouble and some expense. And now, as a native
Georgian, suffer me to say to my countrymen, that
the raising of Silk is i.ot such a humbug as some
suppose, out will bear the test of close calculation,
in the which it will prove to he much more lucra
tive and less laborious than the cult nil- of cotton,
and itv all probability will remain so for many
years- ANSEL M. ALBRITTON.

be made from the stalk, a thing not more absurd
than for one to oiler meal from the corn stalk, U
say nothing of the difficulty of raising the Tomatc
so far North.
Dr. Miles, of Cincinnati, is the proprietor of the
Tomato Pills (proper) for the great benefits ol
which, he holds himself hound, and in Honor pledg
ed to prove by their use, that they arc all that they
profess to be, and will do for otheis what they
have done for such as mav have used them ; as
this is a vegetable of great use, and value, it will
doubl'ds be valuable information to families tu
know that the Yellow are just doubly as valuable
as the Red Tomato, and produces twice as much
of the hapatinc, or active principle, and when used
as a daily vegetable will be found to keep the
system in much better condition than the othei
kind; many will recollect with what trcmhlin;
anxiety c alomel has been given to children, am
how they then wished for a substitute. It ha:
long been known that the Tomato-contained ra
thartic principles, but not until of late was i
ascertained that they contained alterative anddiu
retie properties. The Faculty embrace and ns
the preparation most cheerfully', for the reason tin
they know what it is Were it a patent mystery
they would he bound to reject the medicine, as the
justly do the one thousand and one cure-alls of Hi
day. If yon wish to cleanse the system wilh
mild, safe anti-bilious medicine, use the Tomal
Pill, of which a supply, we learn, will soon be i
this city. Wo all know something about this.
