From the fluttering encouragement we have re ceived during the present year, wo have mad* every exertion, and have succeeded in engaging i the services of first rale teachers in the several departments of the institution.—They bring with them testimonials of religious character and liter ary attainment* from many of the most indue;.- lie! gentlemen in the United States. ’ Wc have made arrangements to hove a Stew urd’s Hall attached to the Institution, at the head of which will be Mrs. D’ESTE, an elderly lady, whose domestic habits and experience in tho government of young ladies, arc very high ly extolled. Wo have been led to tins atop, from (lie inconvenience which young ladies experience in going to and coming from their boarding houses during inclement weather; from the lime they lose, owing to tho domestic arrange ment! of other houses, nut corresponding will* our own; for the sake of having all the yodng ladies, at all times, under the supervision of tliot teachers, os many of them arc disposed to neglect their studies, ami become cureless of their man ners and language when not subjected to such u. check ; and, finally, (lie teachers cannot led them-' selves as responsible for those who board else where, as for those who board with them. Wo no not wish to he understood as dictating to o’ur patrons, but respectfully submit the above hints’ to their sober consideration.
