‘ GREENSBORO’ MALE AND FEMALE
r Academies.
mnG Trustees of the above institutions take this
X method of informing the public that they arc
now both in a highly flourishing condition, under
the care of experienced and able teachers. Ihe male
t department has about fifty students, and is under
1 the direction of Dir Augustus Alden, whose ac
-5 knowlcdged abilities as an instructor of youth, ad
; ded to many years experience in his profession emi
nently entitle him io tho patronage of the public.
1 The Female department has upwards of sixty pu
, pil s , and is under the caro ol Miss A. P, Hamilton,
, a lady of superior literary attainments, whose sys
r lent of discipline and mode of instruction have been
t highly approved, and have secured for Iter a charac
ter as an instructress, perhaps unrivalled in this sec
tion of country. The Trustees have engaged the
. services of Miss M. A. Miller, as an assistant, who
is a lady well qualified to for the discharge of her
duties. ......
In the department of Music, they have the sorvt
y ces of Miss E. A. Hewetf, who was a successful
e and highly approved teacher of the science of mu
sic in the Sparta Female Seminary the last year.
In anticipation of numerous acquisitions to both
departments, by the commencement of another
quarter, they are happy to state that they have the
promise of the Rev. Francis Bowman to hear reci
tations of some classes in either department as oc
casion may require.
fJThey expect also in a short time to engage a com
petent teacher of the French language.
