Its situation is considered, by all who view it, as
tbemost eligible of any in the bay of New Y'ork, for
tb s purposes intended. The Pavilion consists of
lb ir edifices, united by corridors, piazzas, and col
onnades. The centre building is three stories high,
sit- mounted by a Come and observatory, supported
by columns. Tfca centre-building,6o leet by 80, (
co i tains ten rooms adapted to be used as parlors, I
sal .ions, or drav ing rooms, and twelve bed rooms.— i
In the rerr of Ibis building, connected by a corridor,
ist be great saloon, banqueting or ball room, 88 leet
by 40, with a splendid dome ceiling. The basement
tinder this renin contains kitchens of the most up- ,
proved construction, store-rooms, larders, cellars, :
vaults, ice-house,<fec. Connected Willi the centre I
building by grand colonnade and corridor, are two
wings, each 160 feet by 50, two stories high, besides
basements and attics, containing thirty three rooms
anil chambers.
The front of the whole is adorned by throe mag
nificent porticoes, forming with I lie connecting plat
forms a grand promenade, 231 feet in length by 15
