Campbell has a load of opposition
to light in Ohio, and it may be too
soon to sing. “The Campbell’s are
coining.”
The Blue Ridge Rost is the hard¬
est paper we know of to find any
tiling in- We don’t know whether
it, is the fault of ihe printer or editor.
—Jasper Herald.
The Georgia Editors who were off
last week sceiug the wonders of the
outside world will we hope, give us
cant-get-aways some of the benefit of
their observations.
TiiEliepublican, the,Democratic
and the third party candidates for
governor of Kentucky are all in favor
O the ratification of the new cousti-
iiUlOli. and yet the people of the
biate are not likely to ratify.
What we need here in
Georgia is more men of pluck,
gy, enterprise and public spirit.
Men who have the “Get-up-and-go”
tnemseives and who try to do all the
good they can while they live.
The best man in any
be he republican, democrat,
mau, capitalist or laborer, is he who
does all he can to benefit his fellow-
man, and who works for the best in¬
terests of his town, his county and
tits state,
The Third Party may in time be
successful in gaining the offices but
II SO what guarantee against seces-
61011 trom its ranks will it have ?
Will not the disappointed and the
disaffected of, its own then try the
same old game?
The Georgia Solons met in the
Summer session on the 8th aud we
hope the work they do will be a
credit to the body at large and
great benefit to the State. One
purtant that should , be pres-
measure
sed ... the of , the ,
is continuance appro-
priation to the Branch Colleges at
Hamilton, Dahlonega, Milledgeville,
Culhbert and Thomasville.
The only solution of the money
question is to go work make money
and save some of it. The man who
works for fifty cents a day and saves
twenty-five is a better economist
than he who gets five dollars per day
and spends six. The man who
spends more than be makes will nev¬
er solve the money problem and he
will degenerate into a chronic kicker
i .i whom there is no good. *
Build a new Court House, a com¬
fortable modern school building, a
new church, establish a hack line to
Blue Ridge, clean up the grave yard,
paint the houses in town, and keep
the stock out of the public buildings
and you will soon find that new citi-
zeus will come to help you, and your
town will grow and prosper. The
school building and the court house
are necessities that the want of are
now working great injury to both
town and county.,
The Mono anton News is still
without a “first class editor” and will
mu a in so. That kind of editors all
have positions with salaries', ranging
from ten thousand ’dollars and up¬
ward.—Jasper Herald. “And Philip
said unto Nathaniel, can anything
good come out of Nazareth? And
Nathaniel said, ‘come and see.” ’ So
you just wait, and see. The Mor-
ganton News now is a bright, clean,
newsy, paper, and its editorials will
compare favoriably with any of its
contemporaries of its size.
Fannin County has a grand old
name, and the county itself is one
of which all good men can feel proud.
Nature has done wonders for Fannin
and it behooves her citizens to util¬
ize the resources so lavishly bestowed
by the giver of all good. Give some
sections the advantages that Fannin
has and it would soon be a second
Buncombe and Morganton a new
Ashville, It was pluck and push that
made Buncombe, the porest county
in the world and Ashville the poor¬
est town in the state the noted re¬
sorts they are.
Wlsat Example I>o You Set.
“One way in which church-goers
can persuade others to attend, is to
be regular in their own attendance.
Those who are not kept from their
places of worship by rain, or cold, or
heat, or distance, show their appreci¬
ation of divine ordinances, and then-
example is more liken- to influence
others than any invitation they could
speak with their lips.”—Christian
Observer.

CONSUMPTION CURED.
