The party who went to St. Simons

of two days, weary and well covered
with the dust of travel.
Key. J. IT. Heck, State I.ee.turer, was

As usual the Gazette falls into some
ridiculous blunders. It says:
"Mr. amt Mrs W I* l'ledyerof Atlan
ta spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs U .
it. Pledger at the .Matthews hotel.
This merely proves a disposition
on the partol the Guzettc to blunder.
The notice should have read : Cnpt.
VV. P. Becker and lady made a pleas
ant visit to Dr. mid Mrs. (1. B.
Pledger last Sabbath, ('apt. Becker
is Dr. Pledger's step-father. He i ■

Agents Wanted.
Most persoiiB when about to ttn
gage in any particular line ol busi
new very naturally inquire as to
whether or not it is legitimate and
honest, light or heavy wink find
whether or not it will yield good pro
tits.
The Natitinal Garment, Cutter Co.,
are wanting hundreds of agents to g*>
into various parts of the United
Slates to introduce tlieir work. They
are tillering rare inducements to those
who have energy and pluck. Many
perrons are making largo sums ol
money out of the work and the field
is gelling lit*tier every day.
In order to nettle tlie first query ii
is only necessary to use it little com
mon mmse in connection with prac
tical observation in order to satisfy
any one that the business is legitim
ate und honest. The number of deo
yle who daily investigate the work
ing of this system deary pioves it to
be a lawful business, else if otherwise
it would long since have been detect
ed and sot aside.
And to settle the question of hon
esty we need only take note of the
large nunibf r of sitizens woo are en
gaged in buying, selling and using
tliis system, it being as nuivoisal in
its use wherever throttghl and prop
erly introduced as the sewing ni'idi
ine. This alone proves onclu
siveiy that it i* an honest calling and
that those who engage in the sale of
it arc honest and selling honest
goods.
The nature of the work aside from
any other testimony shows it to be
light and pleasant hut in order to
be successful must be pursued as any
other business, iiudhgeuly, indus
triously and perseveringly. As the
farm, merchant or mechanic in or
der to he successful must each follow
out these lines, so in this business.
The only point now for the agent
to be satisfied of is whether or not
the business will pay. As to this,
hear what our agents at different
times and places havo said.
One says: “I will make my re
port of my work in the interest of
the National Garment Gutter. Last
Tn unday 1 sold three cutters Fri
day three, aid Saturday I canvassed
only in the forenoon mid sold one
cutter,instructed in the atternoon
ami sold one cutter altor supper. To
day 1 have sota inree moro making
11 cutters since last Thursday morn
ing. Mv profits equal twice as much
in four days as I was get ting a month
when T oomenced this work. I regard
it by tar the beat business I have
ever been engaged in and have never
been so well satisfied.”
Another write: ‘‘Isold 27 cutters
in ten days. Have had yearsofexper-!
ienee in traveling business but never
met any thing exual to the National
Garment Cutter.”
Another reports : “I feel imioh
pleased with the work on the start,
for it brought me in a week’s wages
before I fairly closed tbe bargain.’*
Another writes, ‘‘I look 'our
