M. B. Rogers, the section for¬
mat! on the G. S. & F., had a
narrow escape from a large rattle-
snake Tuesday. It was between
five and six feet long and had
seven rattles, when Mr. Rogers
saw him he was almost on him,
the snake was coiled and just
reaay to strike. Had Mr. Rog-
