Many inducements To
Students
DuBignon Institute opened up
last Monday under the management
of Prof. W.,B. Smith with the
primary department in charge
of Mrs. T. E. Pennington.
Judging from the beginning this
bids fair to be the best attended
term in many years. At present
there are fifty-three enrolled, and
in less than two weeks there will
be seventy- five.
Airs. Pennington is one of the
besf primary teachers to be se¬
cured anywhere and Prof. Smith
has no superior in the common
branches, as well as Latin and
the higher branches, and with such
teachers as these we will have such
a school as can only be rivaled by
the best schools of the larger
towns.
It will be to the interest of pa¬
rents from the neighboring towns
and communities to investigate this
school before sending elsewhere.
The health of our town, the hos¬
pitality of her people and the ro-
Hgoiis influences combine to make
this one of the most desirable
places for boarding students.
The Mayor and Council have
taken hold of this school and are
determined to place it on a level

HOMEKVILLE, G-A., FRIDAY. JANUARY, 9. 1903.
SUNDAY SCHOOL RESOLUTIONS
Passed on The Death of one of Their
Members
Resolufions passed by the Meth¬
odist Sunday School on the death
of Miss Lottie Peagder.
It is with sincere regret, and
deep sorrow that we come to know
of the death of one of our mem¬
bers. A bright', beautiful, hopeful,
young girl litis left us, and we shall
never again behold her sweet face,
or share in her kindly spirit, as we
all meet in the Sunday School from
Sabbath to Sabbath yet we mourn
not as those who have no hope,
for we have faith, and hope,
sweetly and safely, she found
Jesus precious to tier soul before
she stopped into the cool
of the Jordan.-*—
Sleep lovely maid thy cares arc o'er,
Hope deferred can blight no more
Nor sorrow with its sable wings
O’er thy spirit shadows fling.
Could love have kept tliee gentle maid.
These thoughts had’st, forever stain
But God, and angels, loved thee well
And cock thee hence with them to dwell.
And when we leave this mortal coil
And aro done with time and toil,
May we come with thee to rest;
On the loving Saviotea breast!
Therefore be it resolved
1st. That in the death of
Lottie Peagler, the Homerville
Sunday School, has sustained a sad
bereavement, and we shall miss her
quiet demeanor, and lovable ex¬
ample.
R- >lved 2nd. Tlmt we recog-
niz; £ hand of Almighty Cod in
this ffspensation, of this provi¬
dence and while feeling the heavy
^.jjiiction. His we bow with reverence-
Jo divinh-win, and recognize
in her death a calf to each of us
as members of this Sunday School.
Be yc also ready for in such an hour
as ye think not, the son of man
eometli.
Resolved 3rd. That we extend
our heart felt love and sympathy
to the father, brothers and rela¬
tives: and that a copy of these res¬
olutions be furnished the family
and spread upon the minutes and
published in the Clinch County
News.
