Mr. Tharp Roberts, of Balloon,
was in our town yesterday.
Hon. F. B. .Simians, of Sir-
mans, was in the city Monday.
Mr. W. L. DuVall, of Balloon,
visited our little city Thursday.
Mr. B. A. Harper, of Argyle,
had business in our city Tuesday.
Mr. G. W. Moore, of upper
Clinch, was trading here Wednes¬
day.
Col. R. G. Dickerson attended
Superior court at Valdosta this

Mr. .T. F. Fender, of Stockton,
was in our town this week on
business.
Mr. T. ,T. Strange, a prominent
farmer of Travisvillc, was here

Mr. W. J. Stallings, of Gut¬
ting, was in our town on business

Wc have had several good rains
lately, and crops arc looking line,
especially corn.
Mr. W. R. Dickerson, of Ratio,
was in town the first of the week,
and visited Savannah.
Mr. .1. D. Mattox has just fin¬
ished digging his Irish potatoes,
lie made about 10 barrels.
Mr. A. Gill, a prominent tur¬
pentine operator of northern ( Minch
was in our town Thursday.
Dr. Geo. A. Dame, after a
week’s visit to relatives here, re¬
turned to Inverness Wednesday.
Mrs. B. E. Mattox attended the
funeral of her brother. Geo. W.
O’Quinn, at Odum Inst Monday.
Dr. JamesM. Carswell and fam¬
ily, of Jennings, were the guests
of Dr. Carswell’s mother this
week.

Judge Townsend’s beautiful new
residence in South Ilomerville is
rapidly nearing completion. It will
be ready for occupancy by June.
J. B. Coon, of Dupont passed
through here Wednesday on his
way to Argyle. Mr. Coon is now
making his rounds receiving tax
returns.
The Annual Convention of the
Clinch County Sunday School As¬
sociation meets Saturday and Sun¬
day at Dupont. Eight delegates
and a large crowd of citizens will
attend from this place.
Mr. U. G. Martin, of Urbann,
Ill., was here Thursday looking
after land. He had purchased 84
lots, thinking the titles good, and
did not know he-had been swin¬
dled until he reached here.
Several of our citizens went up
to Valdosta Wednesday to hear
lion. Hoke Smith speak. lie was
employed in a largo damage case,
and would have addressed the jury
on the case, but it was settled.
* A picnic will be held at Blue
Springs next Thursday. Every¬
body is invited to attend. The
railroad has agreed to give rates
of 75 cents for adults and35 cents
for children for the round trip.
Prof. 11. A. Kiker, who has
been principal in the Ilomerville
school, returned to lus home at
Tallapoosa Tuesday. Prof. Kiker
is an excellent young man, and
>nade many friends in our town.
Mr. G. W. O’Quinn died at
home at Odum, Ga., last
night. George, as he was familiar¬
ly called, was well known in this
county, and had many friends here
who regret to learn of his death.
He was a brother of Mrs. B. E.
Mattox, and Mr. II. A. O’Quinn,
of Dupont. He was a devout
church member and earnest
Christian worker. He leaves a wife
and several children.
