Atlanta, Ga., Oct. 12.—Gover-

that took place on last Wednes¬

garding several things winch took
place while 1 Was on my way
there and after 1 arrived, owing
to the Atlanta Journal having
published a story just after the
election, in which a certain re¬
mark of mine was misquoted and
this has created a
ialse impression with sonic people,

The school closing at Midway,
five miles south of Homerville,
last Saturday was quite a success.
J . This has been one among the
best schools of the county for
l sometime and.has had an especial-
j lv large attendance during
j 'term. Miss Lizzie Duv under
whose management they have just
closed such a successful term is
I a tracber of fiino experionce and
' ability. been Her work imthe past has
besides perfectly satisfactory and
this she has done much to
stimulate an interest among the
people for better schools and high¬
er education.
The exercises for the night
were omitted on account of the
rain.
The boll wevil has made its

the raising of corn. hay. and other
crops as money crops.
The farmers of this county have
long neglected stock raising which
would, if properly managed, Ik-
more remunerative than many of
the things they are now undertak¬
ing.
By reason of the fact, that we
have a country here that will pro.
duee almost any crop desired, the
boll-wevil can never damage the
neonle as much is it has in the
west.
