Just where the extra money is to come from has not yet been made clear, and the fact reminds us. as we are reminded a good many times in the course of every legis lativc assembly, that the state is sadly handicapped by an out-of date business system as full of de fects as a dog is of fleas.—-Albany Herald. A national convention of design ers has decided that mens spring suits for 1018 shall be without belts, cuffs find pockets. The elimination of belts may be pro tested by youths between 15 and 22 and old boys of 55 to 70. The loss of cuffs will be regretted by a few dudes, notwithstanding they catch dust in the summer. But the abrogation of pockets will cause real sacrifice to (‘very man — for what can he do without them? a man would rather shuttle off this mortal coil than trot around the streets carrying a handbag.
