S. Malone, last Sunday. Judge W. C. Lankford and Col. Rufus A. Moore, of Douglas, were business visitors to Pearson Tues day. Mr. Geo. L. Dickerson and daughter, Cora, of Clinch county, were in the city Tuesday and a guest of his brother, Mr. R. 11. Dickerson. Elder Williams of Soperton, has been called to the pastorate of the Pearson Baptist church. lb* will preach one Sunday in the month —the third. Mr. H. L. Lankford went up to Atlanta Saturday night and found Mrs. Lankford sufficiently strong to leave the hospital, and they came home together Tuesday morning. Mrs. Jeff Kirkland and Miss Mae James attended the Woman’s Missionary Cnion at Stokesville church last Thursday as delegates from the Local Union. Miss James reported it, as a very interesting and instructive meeting. Dr. B. S. Malone and family at tended the funeral of his brother in law, Mr. G. S. Parley, last Fri day at the Arabia cemetery. Mr. Darley had been ill for many years, and the disease developed total blindness some months ago. The Tribune sympathizes deeply with the wife, sons and daughter in their grief. McLendon came down from Atlanta Monday morning* to look after the farming interest of the Georgia Land Company, lie returned Tuesday night. Messrs. James Higgs and J. E. Button, of the eastern part of the county, were business visitors to Pearson lasi Monday. They are pleased with the idea of Atkinson county, and both will read the Tribune in the future. Mr. B. H. Alien left Pearson last Thursday night for Anniston, Ala., where he has accepted a job in Lucie Barn’s quartermaster de partment. A party of gentlemen met in the dining room of Hotel Malone last Friday afternoon and took the pre liminary steps towards organizing a second bank for Pearson. A wedding of interest to the young people of Pearson, where the bride is well known and loved, is that of Miss 11a Hunter and Mr. Alfred O. Townsend, which was consu mated at Brunswick last Sunday. The contracting parties are second cousins, for which rea son their courtship has been a lang one. The groom is the only child and son of (’apt. W. R. Townsend, a wealthy planter of Glynn county.
