Kirkland. He is a brother to
Mrs. Kirkland.
For reasons that were unavoid
able the local Dramatic Club has
postponed their entertainment un
til a later date —probably the
evening of the 16th.
Miss Charlotte Picket son has
accepted the position of teacher at
the Bradwell school, just over the
line in Clinch county, and assumed
the duties of the position Monday
morning.

Mrs. S. Wesley Harrell and chil
dren are visiting her parents and
other relatives and friends at

rell and Rev. I). .1. Pearson. Sy
rup making in this section will be

Mr. J. B. While came up from
Nahunta last Sunday and spent
the day in Pearson with his family.
Miss Royal, from Bern is, Lown
des county, is the guest of her
aunt, Mrs. Oscar Hawkins, at
Moore's Mill —one and a half miles
east of Pearson.
The editor spent last Saturday
in Waycross looking after some
legal matters before Judge Sum
meraH's chambers court. It was
a big court —lawyers being there
from Brunswick, Jesup, Baxley
and Douglas.
There were eight accessions to
the membership of the Methodist
church last Sunday morning: Col.
Mingledorff and wife and Mr. 11.

Mrs. Missouri Spivey, a success
ful farmer of south Coffee county,
sold to J. M. Meeks this week the
the champion bale of Sea Island
cotton. It weighed 729 pounds
Mrs. Spivey was paid the sum of
$517.94 for it.

tives and friends at Willacooehee.
There will lie preaching service
at St. Marys Chapel tomorrow’ and
Sunday by the pastor, Elder Joe
Thigpen.
Mr. C. B. Adams, wife and baby,
spent several days this week with
relatives in Pearson. He had been
gone from Pearson a number of
years.
A pretty little baby girl has ar
rived at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
C. W. Furlong. Mother and child
arc doing well and her parents are
exceedingly happy.

Prof. Booth kindly took a party
consisting of his own family, the

J- Pearson's Tuesday afternoon.
The trip was an enjoyable one,
notwithstanding the ear got, stuck
in the mud and it was with diffi
culty it, was extricated. The juice
w as fine.
Rev. E. L. Padrick will go to
the annual South (leorgia Con
ference next Tuesday. The Con
ference meets in Albany, and will
be presided ever by Bishop .War
ren A. Candler. Rev. Padrick has
served the Pearson circuit the
past three years and will probably
be sent back next year to complet e
his quadrennium. There is no ob
jection at, this end of the propo
sition, as his service to the
ehurelies of the circuit has been
quite acceptable.
