There are a number of whole some laws among the city ordi nances which should be rigidly en forced —the curfew law, the law against loitering, the law against getting in the way at the railroad depot, the law limiting the time railroad crossings can be blockad ed, the law against speeding, etc. Messrs. Harrelson & Browning have taken over the Smith < la rage, which has been operated for some time by Mr. Homer C. Adams. It is understood that Mr. Adams contemplates returning to his farm for another year. The Tribune welcomes the new firm and wishes for it a lucrative business. There is no reason why a first-class garage cannot do a thriving business here in Pearson. The Tribune is pleased to an nounce that the Morris Drug Com pany, whose stock of goods and fixtures were destroyed by fire on Sunday morning, will continue in business and will open up a fre , -h stock of goods in a small xvay until Mr. Corbitt's store is rebuilt. On the completion of the building a splendid new soda fountain and the very latest apparatus w ill be installed and an up-to-date drug store maintained. The Ware county commissioners have provided a public hitching shed for the use of farmers who drive into Way cross in buggies. 11 ■ s located so it w ill be a great convenience to those interested. Pearson has long needed just such a convenience. It would prove a strong invitation to farmers to come here to do their trading. It would be a good idea also for the city council to designate some particular place where cars should be parked, so as to keep them out of the way of the gener al traffic. Good common sense always takes precedence over any subject that requires attention, that’s why ed ucated fanatics never amount to much because they are minus that great virtue known as common or i horse sense. Anybody can pos- Jsess t his virtue, the uneducated as ' well as the educated. If you have the grert virtue referred to above, we would like to have you try one twenty five cent bottle of Drew’s Salve when you need a treatment for croup, colds, sore throat, bron chitis, tonsolitis and pneumonia We your druggist, respectfully commend this treatment to you on our guarantee that if it does not make good w e will. PEARSON TRIBUNE, NOVEMBER 30,1917 The new Methodist minister, Rev. <). 15. Talley, is expected to arrive in Pearson in time to preach next Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Davis and son, and Dr. S. A. Kirkland, of Ziikle, were visitors at the home of their parents, Mayor and Mrs. Jeff Kirkland, last Sunday after noon. ______ Some one called attention last Sunday morning to the fact, that every fire Pearson has experienced during the past fifteen years was on Saturday night, the only ex ception being the Negro Baptist church which was set on tire by lightning. A number of Pearson people at tended criminal superior court at Douglas this week as jurors and witnesses. Among the number iwere N. E. Harrell, 11. K. Sears, C. H. Dudley, J. F. Smith, Dr. Joe Corbett, I)r. J. S. Morris, C. J. Morris and Jesse M. Pafford. Air. Elisha Meeks has the pret tiest garden in the city. There are rutabagas and other turnips and collards in abundance. He does not sell his “garden sass,’’ but feeds it to his cow instead of high priced foodstuffs from the stores. It is an example worthy of emu lation. Our friend, James A. Moncrief, who lives on his farm just on the outskirts of the city, has provided home made sugar for home use next year, it is his policy to make at least a hundred pounds of sugar for home consumption every year, and it is equal to the best grade of “C” sugar. Go thou and do likewise. A report of the entert ainmen given two weeks ago by the young people of the city for the benefit of the auditorium stage, was writ ten for last week’s paper but by some inadvertence it did not ap pear, to the exceeding mortifica tion of the editor when he discov ered the delinquency. The young people acted their parts well. The gross proceeds were about S2O. The Tribune appreciated the reci tation by Miss Marie Roberts, en titled “The Weekly Newspaper from the Old Home Town.” It was rendered with a clear voice and her articulation was excellent. Miss Marie has the talent to make a good reader which she should cultivate. L<)ST —()nc sample ease, marked “Frank & Co., Savannah, Ga.” Finder Avill be liberally rewarded if returned to this office. Messrs. John W. Murray and Henry Jordan, of Millwood, were prospectors here last Tuesday. Afr. Jordan is in the market to purchase a home in Pearson. Among the Douglas people who came over Sunday to see how bad the fire had done the city were Sheriff W. M. Tanner, Deputy El lis, NY. W. Southerland, J. Monroe Wilcox, Oliver Deeu, Editor Fred Kieketson, Ira Kieketson, E. L. Tanner and others whose names the reporter failed to get. Glad to see the interest they manifes ted in Pearson’s welfare. They are always welcome to the city. Dr. H. P. Smith has just had completed a pretty brick and ce ment fountain in bis front yard, which adds much to its attrac tiveness. lie gets his water sup ply for residence, office and foun tain from the reservoir of Mr. C. W. Harrell at small cost per month. This suggests lunv much beauty can be added to Pearson with the coming of waterworks. Surgeons agree that in cases of Cuts, Burns, Bruises and Wounds the first treatment is most ini, port ant. When an efficient an tiseptic is applied promptly, there is no danger of infection and the wound begins to heal at once. For use on man or beast , BOKOZONH is the IDEAL ANTISEPTIC and TEA LING AGENT.
