Mr. Fleming Smith was in the city yesterday from Jesup. Mr. Mason Scarlett spent yesterday in the city from Fancy Bluff. Services will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal church Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. The Board of Trade met in regular weekly session at the city hall yester day morning, and transacted only rou tine business. Mr. H. T. McKinnon, of Camden county, is spending a few days in the city. Mr. Will S. Taylor left yesterday on a business trip to Nevf Orleans. Mr. M. Kaiser leaves this morning on a short business trip to New York. Mr. William A. Fuller and wife, of New York, were among the arrivals at the Oglethorpe yesterday. Mr. S. F. Floyd, of Waycross, spent yesterday in the city. Mr. F. O. Mays, of Atlanta, was reistered at the Oglethorpe yesterday. Mr. R. F. Foreman, of Atanta, was among the visitors to the city yes terday. Mr. S. F. Harrad was in the city yesterday from Savannah. Deputy Sheriff Pyles has returned from St. Simon, where he went to arrest Sam Dent and Jack Hartley, both charged witn cow stealing. They gave bond and will have a pre liminary hearing today. A Pleasant Party. The handsome little yacht Jessie, owned by Colonel W. A. Wilkins, of Waresboro, arrived in port yesterday from Savannah. After spending some hours in the city the yacht left fofr Fernandina. Those in the party were Captain Wilkins, Mrs. Tinsley, Miss Chisholm, Miss Matcomson and Miss Guerard. Meeting With Success. Mrs. Ketchem; who is getting up au entertainment in conjunction with the Kings Daughters,is meeting with much success among the merchants and the affair is sure to be a success. „ His Own uas Plant. Mr. G. W. Cline, proprietor of the Brunswick Steam Laundry, will, with in the next few months, erect a gas pant in connection with n,s already well equipped laundry. To Inspect Marble. Mr. Reed E. LaMance, of the Bruns wick Marble and Granite Works, left last night on a business troip over several states. Mr. LaMance goes to inspect marble to be used in thp con struction of the public building. Another Ticket Drawn. The limited time having expired since the drawing of tirket 2451 for the china closet, another drawing was held at the grocery store of Mr. W. H. DeVoe yesterday and ticket No. 1148 was drawn. This ticket, if presented in ten days, will entitle the holder to the handsome china closet. It ticket No. 1148 is not presented within that time another drawing will take place.
