Mr. and Mrs. Gus Hoffman left on Thursday for Atlanta in response to a telegram announcing the sudden death of Mr. Lilienthal, Mrs. Hoff man’s father. The Daughters of the Confederacy will hold an informal reception in honor of the Glynn county veterans on Monday night at 8 o’clock, at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Hop kins, on Dartmouth street. Fire Yesterday Morning. A small frame building belonging to Mr. R. R. Hopkins and occupied by negroes was partly consumed yes terday morning. The department did excellent work and saved the two ad joining buildings. Presbyterian Church. The usual services will be conducted at the Presbyterian church today by the pastor. The Sunday-school will meet at 3:30. Strangers and visitors cordially invited to all the services. Subject for morning service, “Public Worship.” For the evening service, “The Worth of a Man.” A Painful Wound. Master John Holtzeiidorff, while, returning to his home at a late hour Wednesday evening, was attacked by a negro boy who inflicted a painful wound on his head with a brick.
