OF THE PAST WEEK.
Tbo Cotillion club will give on* of
its enjoyable germans Monday night
the pleasure o£ the occasion being en
hanced by music furnished by a Ha
waiian band. The club is one of the
most popular organizations in the city,
being the only one where bachelor
buttons have a legal right to flourish
in company with the flowers of more
feminine significance. Their meet
ings are always well atended.
The Acacia club was delightfully en
tertained Friday by Mrs. N. Emanuel.
Euchre was played after which delight
ful refreshments were served.
Miss Reia McKinnon entertained the
Zinnia club on Thursday afternoon.
A most enjoyable afternoon was spent
and the youth and beauty of the
merry crowd present belied the signi
ficance of the name of the club.
Mr. and Mrs. Warren A. Fullor have
returned to their home in Glenn
Ridge. N. J., from a pleasant visit of
about six weeks in the south. They
were the recipients of many social at
tentions in Brunswick and on St Si
mon and their deparure was regretted
Mrs. Fuller is a talented musician and
has composed several pieces. Added
to her accomplishments she has a
grace of manner and sympathetic na
ture which makes her a prime social
favorite everywhere.

The attention of the public is hereby
called to the following, Section 340
of the City Code: "'Every person.
Arm or corporation engaged m any
trade or business calling is hereby
required to register his, her or s
name, business, caiung or trade, an
nually, at such time as the Mayor and
Council may, by resolution from time
to time, direct, in a book to be kept
by the Clerk for that purpose, and
persons coming into the city and en
gaging in business alter that date
shall so register within tendays after
commencing any business, trade or
calling and take out the required bus
iness license.”
Section 312.—Every person, firm
or corporation wishing to retail whis
ky. wine, beer, or otheß spirituous
malt or fermented liquors stall apply
in writing at a regular meeting of
council specifying the place where it
is intended to carry on the business,
and the application shall be accompa
nied by the written consent of the
nearest neighbors to carrying on the
business at place specified.
Section 313. —All license to retail
w„.sky, wine beer or other spirituous,
malt or fermented liquors shall give
bond with two or more good and suf
heient securities to be approved by
u*e Mayor and Council, payable to
the Mayor and Council and condition
ed to keep a decent and orderly
house. t
License Ordinance No. 100 fixes
said bond at $6OO, and on all business
callings, etc., the registration at Feb
ruary 1, 1902.

and general merchant, living and doing

for a discharge in bankruptcy in the
clerk's office of the United States
court on Friday. The bankrupt is
represented by Mr. Max Isaac, of
Brunswick.
