Speaking of Haverly's minstrels, which are to play at the Grand tomor row night, the Atlanta Journal says: “Haverly’s minstrels were at the Grand last night. The one great fea ture of. the entertainment, viewed as a whole, was the spirit with with ev ery act was undertaken. There was a crispness, a sparkle, an animation about tiie whole performance from curtain raiser to the last act of tiie olio. “Now why Haverly's minstrels not apeur. the name hath a famil iar ring to it. 'Wilson’s minstrels’ would have done just as well, meant more to the public and had been in tinitely truer, for George- he of the big month, the wink and the thank you—was the star of the constella tion. One feature of the entertainment that deserves particular and special commendation is the singing, which was unusnaly good, even in the days of modern minstrelsy. George Mor gan. the English male soprano, quite captured the audience and received several encores, while a nnmbr of the other singers were equally as well re ceived. "The jokes possessed the rear and happy merit of being new, and ns such were uprorknrsly applauded.
