WEDNESDAY MORNING, BRUSSWICK DAILY NEWS. PUBLISHED DAILY BY THE NEWS PUBLISHING CO. A. H. LEAVY Manager LOUIS J. LEAVY, Jr... City Editor CHARLES M. TILTON Solicitor Advertising rates made known on application. Church and other char itable organization notices published at half the regular rates. SUBSCRIPTION RATES. Terms to subscribers in the city and by mall free of charge to all uarta of the United Slates and Can ada, Mexico.'Porto Rico, Guam, Phil ippine islands and Hawaiian Islands: Per Month $ .60 Six Months 2.6 b One .ear 5.00 'Phone 188. Entered at the Brunswick, Oa„ postoflice, as second-class mail mat ter. Hon. Emory Speer has designated the Brunswick Daily News as the official organ of the United States Court, in bankruptcy proceedings, for tiiynn county. PUBLISHERS NOTICE. The News Publishing Company de sires it to be distinctly understood that all legal advertisements must be paid for in advance. We cannot afford to devote our space to such advertise ments and wait on the courts lor the money. Coming attractions ' cast their shadows before —sec the bill hoards. An exchange wants to "live in a country where there is no politics." Hon. .Simon W. Hitch has made his forma! announcement for the judge ship. Dupont Guerry gets real funny in some .of his speeches. Dupont is a joker in his governorship race. Every man on earth nas his faults, but the girl who is engaged to he married is positve there is one ex ception . The Thomaavllle Times-Enterprise hopes there "will he no slopping over Prince Henry." This is a nice way to talk about American beer. Tlie Hooker T. Washington kink and the Henley loop seem to have been too much for Teddy. The peo ple win .-e i uigmen inese tilings out lor him in 1904, says the Knoxville Sentinel. Judge T. A. Parker, of Baxley, an nounces for the judgeship of the Brunswick circuit in this issue. Judge Parker is an aide lawyer, prominent and popular, and his can didacy should lie considered by . ..<* people of this county. Republican Senator Tillman may deserve expulsion, though on expel sion he might appeal to nls state for some sort of a vindication and be sent hack in triumph, as Joshua (Jid dings was by his Ohio dlstlrct after expulsion from the House, for other causes, however, than disgraceful misbehavior. But tne matter seems to lie assuming too partisan a form to make expulsion easy to effect. The Democratic senators evince a disposition to stand by Tillman, as against one whom they regard as a renegade, and the Republicans would lack the two-thirds vote necessary to expel without help from the other side. THE ISSUES. There seems to be hut little doubt now Inn that we will have some heat ed political contests in the near fu ture. The race for the senate and the rare for the house promts,' to he spirited. These will probably be the oa!> two races In whien there will he any Issues. The liquor question promises to be n great factor, and the city conn too will play an •important part. With the first one. The News is for lo cal option, in the second we will re serve our statement for some fu tore' day. We expect to go into the city court matter—deep into it— and. after this careful examina tion of the cost of operating the court, the advantages and disadvant ages we will bo able then to say ex actly what is best lor the people as a whole. The News is an honest newspaper and will give an honest opinion in this matter. THE MARKET UUIIDING. The News appreciates the fact that the treasury of the city U not in a condition to stand for the com pletion of the market building, and as the sale of the material of the half finished structure would cause a sacrifice to the city it is better to let it stand for awhile, a least until we are able to complete it We ara oi the opinion that it will never be used as a market, but it will make excellent quarters for the fire and police departments. pointed paragraphs. A boy’s headache is always worse just about school time. Some men have brains and some seem to have wneels. Woman does not enjoy a funny story unless there is a man in it. ihe better the physican the les: respect the undertaker has for him. A man is always on time when he nas an appointment witn a prettj girl. There is something wrong with a pie if the small boy refuses a sec ond piece. Bpring lamb is one tiling in the dictionary and quite another on the bill of fare. The man who is willing to lent you' money tomorrow always wants to borrow today. A married man is apt to get mad If he finds out that his wife isn worrying about him. tjome men live and learn and sorm devote their time to trying to forget what little they know.
