A Narrow Escape.
A small unknown white boy came
near losing his life yesterday after
noon by riding a bicycle in front of
one of the fire wagons near Parker’s
store on E street. The bicycle was
completely demolished and the boy
was missed by only a few inches.
A False Alarm.
,he fire department was called
out late yesterday afternoon by a
lab alarm. Some women saw fire
coming from a chimney, near the
residence of 'Captain Newman and
gave the alarm in by telephone.
Chief Green and firemen, however,
made a quick run to the scene.
