The candidates for county offices have about all announced now and the different contests will grow live lier as the days pass. Messrs. Head, du Blgnon and Jennings will prob ably have no opposition. May Resume Schedule. Agent Candler, of the Southern railway, informs The News that the washout over his line near Cochran.' has been repaired and all trains are expected to resume their regular schedule today. Atlanta, March 6.—Lem Strickland of Monroe, Ua., a delegate to the Bible Conference, in session here, was arrested yesteruay by the police on suspicion of being in league with the pickpockets who robbed several of the ministers wtio are conducting services, Strickland is very angry as he was kept conduc'd two days. He showed his credentials, but the officers would not release him until other deli-gates came to his aid. The delegates are much Incensed. JOHNSTON CHARGES WASTE BY GLENN. Atlanta, March 6.—Mark Johnston of Baldwin, in his formal announce ment today, says he favors uniform text books for schools and believes in stpping leakst. He claims $71,000 is spent by the present administra tion for school supplies and SIO,OOO a year for postage. SOCIAL. Mrs, H, K. Lucas is ill to the re gret of friends. Mrs. Mary Ann Irvine and daugh ter, Miss Lelia Irvine, who have been spending some time in the city the guest of Mrs. D. I>.
