I spent nearly a week in Lamden in the interest of the News, and feel under many obligations to the good people of that hospitable county for the many courtesies extended. They are all good people there, and staunch business men. Camden, like every other county in the state, is talking politics, and some warm but gentle contests are on. Probably the warmest is for the office of sheriff. Hon. J. 8. Russell and Mr. Dave Bailey are the candidates, and as both are popular, the "bout" is Indeed interest ing. The superior court was in session at St. Marys, and it was quite inter esting Thiß little town bids fair to become great in the near tutu re. It is true that the residents fail to re alise the natural advantages, but they will some day, and then St. Marys will blossom like the rose. St. Marys needs a lailroad and as it is only ten miles to the Seaboard Air Line it seems strange that one has not been built long ago. The town stands ready to give to any company which will buil i and operate a railroad 1,000 acres of City Comtnonda, 1,000 feet of deep water front. Hon. J. S. Russeell seemingly does snot believe in holding one office and running for another. He resigned as a member of the county hoard and is hustling for —e office of sheriff. Mr. Brown, the present sheriff, is a popular official, ami it is to he r<- gntted that he is to retire at th end of his present term. The News Is the official organ ot Camden, and will publish the flrs; sales on April 5. I hope to visit Cam den again in the near future and be come better acquainted with the peo Pie. C. M. Tilton.
