Miss Clifford Lucas left on Mon
day for Savannah.
The Aeascia club will be entertain
ed this evening by Miss Ethel Con
oily at her home on Union street.
Miss Mary Wilson has returned to
her home after spending several
weeks here the guest of her brother
Mr. J. O. Wilson at the Oglethorpe.
An enjoyable dance will be given
Monday night at the Riflemen's
armory. Quite a number of dancers
will be present and the occasion will
boa happy one in every sense of the
word.
Mrs. Healy, of Brooklyn, and Miss
Biadloy, of Washington, who have
been for some time the guests of M’s.
,f. A. Butts, have returned to their
homes, to the regret of the many
friends they made here.
The entertainment which is being
gotten up by the Manse Circle of the
Presbyterian church, promises to be
unite a novel and enjoyable affair.
The little ones are being thoroughly
trained, and will he an undeniable
credit to both parents, friends and
those who have rehearsed them.

ates, successors and assigns, and any

'organize, the full light and author
j ity to build. construct. purchase,
equip, maintain and operate an elec
tric light plant for the purpose ot
furnishing and supplying to the said
city of Brunswick and the inhabi
tants thereof and to other people
electric light and electrical power,
in such quantity and such power as
may lie desired, and to that, end they
art' hereby authorized to plant, erect
anti maintain all necessary polos and
to lay or stretch sit h wis.s and nui
te.'ials or appliances vsva'y to
the delivery or furnishing of lights
and power by electricity from their
electric plant or plants to the city
or inhabitants thereof or other peo
pie, over and upon any and all of tie
streets alleys, squares and grot ns of
said city, either under or above
ground or both, as the said persons
may Cesire; provided, however; that
tne rights, privileges and powers set
out and granted by this section 3hall
be subject to all ordinances now in
j force or which may hereafter be
adopted regulating and controlling
the use of such streets, lanes alleys,
squares and greens, and the erection
of poles and electric wires. This li
cense and power shall extend for the
full end and term of fifty years front
the date of the passage of this ordi
nance; but it is provided, however,
that in so laying the wires and con
structing the poles for fae purposes
above named, the licenses shall not
build any obstruction over the sßid
highways, squares gr greens of said

highway for vehicle or pedestrian.
Section 11. Be it further ordained,
That should the said grantees, their
successors or assigns, fail or refuse
to perform the conditions or comply
with the terms and provisions herein
set out ant! imposed upon and assumed
by them under this ordinance, then,
in such event, the said Mayor and
council may, at its option, annul and
revoke this franchise and all of the
fights, powers and privileges herein
granted.
Section 12. Before said grantees,
their successors or assigns, shall have
the right or authority to exercise any
of the rights or privileges herein
granted, they, or one of their num
ber duly authorized by them in writ
big, shall signify the aeeeptanee of
libs ordinance and the terms and con
ditions herein set out, in writing,
whim acceptance siiall be spread on
the minutes of council, and such ac
ceptance shall give this ordinance and
all its terms and conditions not onlv
the force of law, hut also the full
force of a contract between the
Mayor and council and said grantees,
their successors or assigns.
Section 13. Be it further ordained.
That should said grantees, their auc

corporation owning and controlling
such street railway, after once be
ginning the operation of the same,
tail or cease to operate such railway
in such manner and with such sched
ules as will afford the public tit and
reasonable transportation facilities

Section 14. Be it further ordained.
That all ordinances and parts of or
dinances in conflict herewith be and
