Miss Mai King entertained the Acacia club last Wednesday aftom/v>n. Euchre was played, Mrs. E. D. Walter winning the first prize and also the lone-hand prize. Park, of Atlanta, enter tained with a tea in honor of several prominent visitors last Thursday, and among the guests of honor was Mrs. P. W. Godfrey, formerly of this city, now of Covington. Mrs. Godfrey is re gent of the Sergeant Newton Chapter of D. A. R. and is one of Georgia s most prominent and "popular women. The regents of the different chapters and officers of the U. D. C., assisted Mrs. Park in the V.dertainm-it <f her distinguished guests. ... Prominent Visitors. Mr. and Mrs. I). Dillon Akers will arrive in the city shortly and will be the guests of Mrs. 12. F. Coney. Mr. Akers is prominent in Atlanta's bus iness and social circles, and his bride is one of Augusta"s fairest and so ciety women. Their marriage was a brilliant event of interest to a wide circle of friends in the south and west, the bride being a daughter of the late Governor Palmer, of Mis souri. Many pleasant attentions veil! be shown the young couple during their stay in Brunswick, alter which they will return to Atlanta, where they will reside. • • • Pleasant Boat Ride. Mr. F. E. Twitty was the host, on a delightful boat party Friday even ing, complimentary to several visiting young ladies. The merry party was accompanied by a string hand, and stop was made at the pier and all enjoyed a dance. Dunn, who passed away in this city Friday night, shipped to his former home in Chicago over the 9:05 Southern last night.
