Mr. Jennings is a competent of ficial, and will unquestionably receive a targe vote. Small Blaze Yesterday. An alarm of fire was sounded late yesterday afternoon from box IS. The blaze was located in the brick building corner Monk and Oglethorpe streets, formerly occupied by J. Michelson. It caught from a defect ive wire. The blaze was extinguished before, the department arrived and no damage was done. It is very likely that the only seven masted schooner in the world will come to this port on lu r maiden trip. This great .v.-ren-imwtej schooner is now in course of construction, and will soon be completed. She will be the largest sailing craft in the world it was understood yesterday that this new schooner would come to Bruns wick on her first voyage, she having already been chartered for this port. it will be remembered that the Geo. \V. Wells, the first six-masted schoon er ever built, came to Brunswick on her maiden trip and took on a cargo of something like 52,000 cross ties Horn Emanuel & Cos. The Welts is now the largest sailing vessel in the world and she had not the least, trouble entering our harbor. The new seven master can come to Brunswick with ease, and it is thought that she will be here on her first trip. INTEREST IN THE GOLF GAME. Darien and Brunswick to Try for Hon ors Wednesday. Much interest is being manifested in the game of golf to be played on the links of the local club Wednes day afternoon between Brunswick and Darien, and the game will doubtless he witnessed by a large crowd.
