Mrs. Perry is the widow of General Perry, who won great distinction in the Con federate army, and was some years ago governor of Florida. * m Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Reese, who have been the guests of Judge ami Mrs. J. D. Sparks, are spending a few days at the Ogletnorpe, Mr. Reese is a brother (o Mr. Millard Reese, of this elty, and Tvlrs. lteese is the daughter of Mr-i. Governor Perry, of Pensacola, Fla. ... Rehearsals are now in progress for the sacred concert to he given at thp * Presbyterian church Tuesday night, May the 6th. The Easter cantata, which recently created so much favorable comment, will he re pented. In addition several new pities will he introduced, which promise to he equally popular. Al together it will be composed of very high class sacred music and will he produced by our nest singers. • • Mr. Alfred Farringdon, who was the guest of Mr. George H. Cook for the past ten days, lias returned to his home in Franklin, Mass. Mr. Farring don expressed himself ns much pleased with Brunswick in particular during his tour of the south, which included St. Augdstine and other points in Florida. He made many friends here, who will be glad to welcome him among them again. Pleasant Party. Mrs. Artnur C. Jr. • • • Acca.ia Club Entertained. The Misses Butts entertained the Accocia club Thursday afternoon with a novel and very enjoyable luncheon. A departure was made from the usual rule of the club in having no games I'hived. delightful conversation, uniu lerrupted by demands of points and 'ally, making the time pass quickly, in the dining room the decorations were artistic aud beautiful, the color scheme being white and red. this note being carried out in ail the decora tions, and iu the color lining of the la e pieces laid o>ei the table cloth. A delicious lunesh of several courses was served. Conforming to the rule of the club a prize was cut for by ail the members and was cut by Miss'Mai Ring. Those present were: Misses Mai King. The reception given at the home of Mrs. A. C. Blain Wednesday afternoon, in honor of her guests, Mrs. W. A. Jeter, Mrs. J. William Pinkston, and Mrs, R. C. Corbin, was a very delight ful affair. The house was tastefully decorated, the parlor in blue with a note of green, in the trailing bamboo and srnilax vines. Tic- library, where fruit punch was served, was in yellow and all through the rooms and re ception hall numberless roses made the air fragrant. Under skilled hands the piano gave fortu sweet music, which added much to the afternoon s enjoyment. In the dining room the dominant color tone was red. softly shaded candles casting a warm glow upon the beautiful table with its bur den oi' dainties upon rich hue tabic pieces. Here delicious refreshments J were served. Miss Eva Jctter pre sided at the punch table. The other ladles who assisted Mrs. Blain in en tertaining were: Mesdames C. L. Candler, S. C. Atkinson, It. K.
