PETITION FOR INCORPORATION. STATE OF GEORGIA, COUNTY OF GLYNN. To the Honorable Superior Court of said county: The petition of John Basil Davis, Duncan Wright and B. Carreras, all of the county and state aforesaid, rc specttull shows to the court: I. That they desire, for themselves, their successors, associates and as signs, to be created a body nnlit.ic ana corporate, under and according to the laws of Georgia, under the name and style of the Brunswick Oglethorpe Club. 11. Petitioners further show that the objects of said organization are not pecuniary gain or profit, and that it is not their purpose to engage in trade or other business for "-Bn or profit: but to organize, conduct and maintain a social club, for the benefit and pleasure of themselves, their as sociates and successors, and for the encouragement of social intercourse among the same. 111. The said organization will have no capital stock, but will derive its revenue from the dues and initiation fees of its members, to be fixed by a constitution and by-laws to be adopted as hereinafter prayed. IV. Petitioners desire, power to ad/opt constitution and by-laws, by a majority vote of the members of said organization, which shall he binding upon all of said members, to change the same at any time by similar vote, after notice to all of said members, to plead and be impleaded, contract and lie contracted with, sue and ho sued, uSe a corporate seal, buy, sell, lease, mortgage, take ,y deed ot con veyance or convey, such real estate and personal property, as may be nec essary for carrying out tme purposes o! said organization; and, In general, the powers usually Incident to a scr ciai club. V. The principal office and place of business of said corporation will lie in the county of Glynn and state of Georgia. VI. Petitioners desire to he Incor porated for the term of twenty years, with (lie privilege of renewal at the end of said term, as provided by law. VII. Petitioners desire authority to open a subscription lor membership in said organization immediately upon t/m granting of the powers herein prayed, and to organize said club and begin the exercises of the powers here in prayed when as many as six sub scribers thereto shall havei been ob taint-u. Wherefore, the premises considered petitioners pray that the court will grant an order incorporating them, tneir associates, successors and as signs, for the purposes and under the name and style aforesaid.
