This promises to be a very enjoy able Jay for the Brunswick and Darien golf players, and besides an interest ing game to be played this afternoon, the visiting club and their friends will be royally entertained during their short stay in the city. The Darien club and their friends arrive in the city at 12:30 on the steamer Messie. It is expected that a large crowd will come over as a cheap rate has been offered by the boat line. The officers and members of the club will be taken to the Ogle thorpe hotel immediately alter the ar rival of the boat, where a luncheon will he served. The ladies who ac ' company the team over will be en iiertained at the Oglethorpe uy the la -1 dies of Brunswick from 1 to 2 p. m. Tne game will he called promptly .at 2:30 p. m., and will no douot be witnessed by a large number of cit izens. This will be the first game | ever played in Brunswick between tho home and a visiting club and much interest is manifested in it. The Brunswick club visited Darien some time ago, and met a defeat, and they expect to be victorious in the game this afternoon. Immediately after the game the Darien club will he delightfully en tertained at the Phoenix club, and a most enjoyable time is promised. All in all. the day will he a pleasant [one for both the rnemoers of tho home and visiting club, while much inter est is centered on the game. E. Mciiae, of Valdosta, who is remembered by many friends here as Mrs. Alepli Rockwell. * * Albert Wylly was the name con ferred on the little son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Brobston at lifs christening, which occurred recently at St. Mark’s. Master Stanley Brobston stood proxy for the sponsors, who wore the little ones grand parents. * Mr. F. D. Aiken was the host on a very pleasant launch party Monday afternoon, complimentary to Mr. War ren Howard and party of Atlanta. The guests were: Mr. Warren Howard, Miss Martha Cobb Howard, Miss Dunnington, of Chariottsville. C., in response to a ; telegram announcing the serious ill ness of his mother. Mr. Giimore’s many friends hope that his mother will he much improved on his arrival. Making Rapid Progress. Work of erecting poles was resumed by the Brunswick Electrical Supply company yesterday and quite a num ber were placed In position.
