The following petition for incor
poration tells of anew enterprise
soon to be started in this city.
STATE OF GEORGIA,
GLYNN COUNTY*
To the superior'court of sard county:
The petition of C. T. Calnae, J, D.
White, J. A. S. B. Henderson,
James Sava.ge and W. A. Potter, ail
of said state and county, respectfully
shows:
First. That petitioners desire for
themselves, and such others persons
as may be hereafter associated with
them, to be incorporated under 'the
corporate name) and style of the
“Loan and Land Company of Bruns
wick.”
Second. That the object of such
corporation fia Thje pecuniary gain
of its members, and they wish to own
hold, improve, and sell, or otherwise
dispose of real eishate, to lend money
and take security ther. of, and to buy
and scdl stocks and bonds and for
other purposes.
Third. T hat the principal office of
said corporation shali he in the city
of Brunswick, in said county of
Glynn.
Fourth. That the corporate stock
of said corporation shall be ten thous
and dollars, divided into one hundred
shares of (lie parvalue of one hun
dred dollars each, with the right, by
a majority vote ot the shareholders, to
increasrf tthe capital stock from time
to time to any sum or sums not ex
ceeding (illy thousand dollars.
Filth. That the officers of said
corporation shall be a president, vice
president, secretary and treasurer and
other officers or agents as the share
holders or board of directors may de
sire: that the board of directors shall
consist of not more than seven nor
not less than three, all of whom shall
be shareholders, who shal be elected
by the snare-holders.
Sixth. That the shareholders shall
havi( the right to fix and prescribe
by-laws, rules and regulations lor the
government of said corporation, or
to delegate this authority to the board
of directors.
Seventh. That, under such corpor
ate name and style, jour petitioners
desire the right to contract and lie
contracted with, to sue and be sued;
to borrow money and secure the same
as the board of directors may desire;
to have and use a common seal, and
to change the same at pleasure; and
generally to hav all the rights, priv
ileges and powers incident to and nec
essary and proper in the conduct an.,
operation of the business of the cor
poration, and ali the rights, privi
leges and powers given and granted
such corporations under the laws of
Georgia.
Eighth. That there shall In* no in
dividual liability upon the part of
any shareholder, of the corporation,
such amount as may due by such
shareholder as unpaid subscription
for stock in said corporation.
Eighth. That they desire to l>e in
corporated under said name and
style of The Loan and Land Company
of Brunswick, with all the rights,
priviliges and [lowers prayed for
herein, for a period of twenty years,
with privilege of renewal at the ex
piration of that time.

trade.

ors for this term of the city court will

of Georgia upon her citizens. A num
