To the Honorable Superior Court ot said county: Tne petition of John Basil Davis, Duncan Wright and B. Carreras, all o£ the county and state aforesaid, re specttull shows to the court: I. That they desire, tor themselves, their successors, associates and as signs, to he created a body oolitic ana corporate, under and accoruing to the laws of Georgia, under the name and style of the urunswick Oglethorpe Club. 11. Petitioners further show that t'ne objects ot said organization are not pecuniary gain or profit, and that it is not their purpose to engage in trade or other business for "sin or profit; but to organize, conduct and maintain a social club, tor the benefit and pleasure of themselves, their as sociates and successors, and for the encouragement of social intercourse among the same. 111. The said organization will have no capital mock, but will derive its revenue trom the dues and initiation fees of its members, to be fixed by a constitution and by-laws to be adopted as hereinafter prayed. IV. Petitioners desire power to adK>pt constitution and by-laws, by a majority vote of the members of said organization, which shall be binding upon all of said members, to change the same at any time by similar vote, after notice to all of said members, to plead and be impleaded, contract and be contracted with, sue and be sued, use a corporate seal, buy, sell, lease, mortgage, take oy deed ot con veyance or convey, such real estate and personal property, as may be nec essary tor carrying out tuc purposes of said organization; and. in general, the powers usually incident to a so cial club. V'. The principal office and place of business of said corporation will be in the county of Glynn and state ot Georgia. VI. Petitioners desire to be incor porated for the term of twenty years, with the privilege of renewal at the end of said term, as provided by law. VII. Petitioners desire authority to open a subscription lor membership in said organization immediately upon t’oe granting of thei powers herein prayed, and t.o organize said club and begin the exercises of the powers here in prayed when as many as six sub scribers thereto shall havei been ob tained.
