Well you all could not win.
It was a fair fight anyway and no
kick should come.
The election is over and now let us
get down to business again.
Everybody could have a carriage
yesterday, it was election day.
The News is safe when it. says
that tlie whiskey law was observed
yesterday.
M!r. Cluerry probably knows now
that Joe Terrell can actually get
hot sometime.
General Joe Wheeler, the real hero
of Santiago, Is never heard from these
days. He is probably too busy mak

The Rome Tribune says "Vcg and
the world vegs with you, beef and
you beef alone.”
If you live near a volcano you may
expect to get burned. It is the same
way about, bad company.
We see that Rev. ham Jones is to
erect a handsome office building in
Cartersville. Mr. Jones has the mon

not a nionqy maker.
A young woman from the west
says she desire to sell her soul to

In tht' controversy between Presi

the south should huve nothing ot
say. We think about as much of one
as we do the other and in this ease
there is nothing to do but ‘ hands

THE PRIMARY YESTERDAY.
The primary held yesterday for the
purpose of nominating a state sena
tor, representative and county officers
ended one of the cleanest campaigns
in the history of Glynn County. There
was enthusiasm but no pulling and
hauling; there was loyalty but no
bitterness, it was a contest between
gentlemen, and we hope all elections in
Glynn county will be coducted in a
like manner.
To the victors Tae News extends
congratulations anu indulges in the
hope that they may prove worty of
tae confidence of the democrats who
nominated them.
Those who lost are all good men
and die fact that they were defeated
is no dishonor.
Gets put our ■shoulders to the
wheel now and puli for Brunswick.
STICK TO YOUR HOME.
The News is almoa ashmed to be
continually calling the attention of
our citizens to the fact that it is their
duty to .stand for their home city and
its industries. Thejy should know it
themßoives and consider it a sacred
duty to patronize home industries
and home institutions.
It is unfortunate that the patriotic
feeling does not rtxist here and if a
sentiment of this sort can be aroused
here the News will endeavor todo the
the arousing. ,■.
Stick to the local merchhant; do
not send away for any article, advise
