Emory Spear has designated tbe Brunswick Dally News as the official organ of the United States Court, In bankruptcy proceedings, for uiynn county. PUBLISHERS NOTICE. The News Publishing Company de sires It to be distinctly understood that all legal advertisements must be paid for In advance. We cannot afford to devote our space to such advertise ments and wait on the courts for the money, L ... I Thursday's primary was clean in every sense of the word. The tramp is now in his glory a Reap trust is soon to be found. President Koosrtvelt ims evidently succeeded in shutting Miles' mouth. Mr. Guerry's attack on the prison commission will cost him many votes. The two Augusta papers are having a circulation dispute. These contro versies do no good. New farms are being started in all parts of Glynn county. A sure in dication of better times. Everything is very promising for the rapid completion of the Brunswick and Birmingham railroad. Tampa is mixed up in one of the dirtiest political lights in her history and we are sorry for the taxpayers. Subscribers will please take notice that unless their bills are paid promp ly their papers will be discontinued. The .stao campaign is now getting down to the mud slinging stage and Mr. Guerr.v hud the pleasure of .start ing it. Tbe great Charleston Exposition will close on June 1. It has, no doubt lost big money for the stork lioltl'ers. Some of the local candidates can change Sherman's iefination of""war and substitute the wold “polities" instead. 'Hie new oil company will begin work as soon as the charter is grant ed. This enterprise means much for Brunswick. Idle Union street bicycle ordinance continues to keep the police force busy. When the mayor fines several, riding there will stop. IT MEANS TO FRISCO. Tlio Birmingham Age-Herald has the following; "A Columbus. Ga„ special says if is stated officially and unequivocally that the Brunswick and Birmingham railroad will be built to Birmingham, and that the promoters will not stop until they reash this city. When Col. Machen. ptesident of the construction com pany. and Mr. Charles Hyde, president of the railroad company, were here a l< w weks ago they hiked over the situation pretty thoroughly but made no statement of their plans. It is believed by many people that if the Biutiswieh and Birmingham succeeds in pushing though to this distance it will be with the aid of the Frisco. But officials of that system have not given any pointers on the sub ject." A GENERAL SHAKE UP. The, new Secretary of the Navy, Mr. Moody, threatens a mild revolu tion in the department that will be of great benefit to the department. He believes that an officer trained, for sea at the expense of Unci Sam is poor business perched on some cler ical stool doing tne duties of a ll.OOOclerk. Impressed with the necessity of an increase in the personnel both of officers and men, he means to utilize these stoolpigeons first. His plan presents a cold business proposition tiiat, needs no argument to sustain It. He will have more difficulty in carrying out his ambitions for a greater navy, for he yearns for a rapid increase to our present naval forces. There is a good-sized minority of Americans satisfied with our navy as it now stands, notwithstanding the added responsibilities entailed , by our new insular possessions. | Mr. Moody,' however, puts hist I argument on another base, and says the best defense of the coast is on the high seas, which, ofcourse, means that we must have fignting ships. in any plan for the wise entension of our naval forces for tiie purpose of defense, Mr. Moody will find the majority of the people at his back. Hut we do not want to go "navy mad” in an endeavr to outdo the powers of Europe that are never menaneed by the specter eff grim war. The hatters make it impossible to be in style for lest than a ten spot. This is unkind considering the fact that it is election time. The interesting services now be ing conducted by Dr. Munliail at the auditorium should be well attended by our people g morally.
