THE BRUNSWICK DAILY NEWS DISTRICT CONFERENCE BEGINS HERE TONIGHT INTERESTING SESSION TO BE HELD AT THE FIRST METH ODIST CHURCH. The Waycrosa District Conference will begin tonight at the First Meth odist church wiLa the opening ser mon by. Key. C. M. Ledbetter, of Blacksfiear, Ga. The business Sessions will open to morrow at 9 o’clock, and to all ses sions of the conference the public is welcome. Delegates have already begun to ar rive and a large number will be on hand from all over this part of the state. Tfmong other prominent men who will be in attendance will be Pres ident C. I*3 Doowman, of Emory Col lege; Editor W. C. Lovett, Prof. J. C. Hinton and Rev. Raacom Anthony. There will be preaching each night at 8 o’cltK-k. CUMBERLAND OPENS TODAY, Eight Hundred Visitors From Atlanta Today. Hotel Cumbenand will be opened to the public today, and from every in dication the season will be the most successful in the history of the popu lar resort. Jaeoibi has everything in readiness for the open ing and, from time very start, will care for between seven and nine hundred people who will arrive in the city this morning from Atlanta on the ex cursion of the Retailer’s Association) All the help for the island arrived during rrr week, the last crowd com ing down yesterday morning. The help is of the best and everything will he operated in a first-class man ner at the hotel. Manager Jacobi expresses himself as well ssatisfied with the outiooK and says' the largest crowd that has ever visited Cumberland will come down this Season. The excursion today will arrive about 8 o’clock and will leave inn mediately, for the island. A Plant System Train Ran Into a Vehicle. A yard engine on the Plant System ran into a horse and wagon yeterday and the driver came very near losing his life. The engine waa not going at a high speed and consequently the damage Amounted to very little. The wag-T was partly demolished. To Meet in Savannah. The Georgia State Federation of Labor will hold its annual convention in Savannah, June 18-19. and it is ex pected that the sessions of the organ ization will be attended by about two hundred delegates. TALK ABOUT THE MAYORALITY. Number of Citizens Being Mentioned For the Piace. Talk of the mayoralty election is now being revived since the state con test is over and a number of prom inent Brunswick citizens are being groomed for the race. It looks now very much like the old party lines will be relegated and it will be a free for all fight. Thosa spoken of in connection with the mayoralty are: N. Emanuel, R. R, Hopkins, F, E. Twitty, J, J. Lott, E. Brobston, T. Newman, A Fendig. AN EXCELLENT RECORD. Supreme Court Sustainss Judge Ben net in 18 Out of 21 Cases. The local attorneys, among the number some very able ones, say that Judge Rennet's record before th su preme court is one of which any man aiight justly be proud. In the recent batch of Brunswick circuit cases be fore Georgia’s highest tribunal Judge Bennet was sustained in eighteen out of twenty-one cases. INTERESTING EXERCISES. Cypress Millji School Closed On Monday.
