Th* News Publishing Company de sires It to be distinctly understood that all legal advertisements must be paid for In advance. We cannot afford to devote our space to such advertise ments and wait on the courts for th* money. Brunswick’s shipping is on the incline which is a healthy sign for this season of the year. Roosevelt and Hanna are at outs. The honest inan Is liable to suffer good and strong now. The Tampa Bay hotel has been sold to a syndicate, and it is now proposed to operate the house all the year round. Good for Tampa. Brunswick's uniform rank, Knights of Pyt’nins are practicing hard for that San Francisco drill and it is a clne'n that the txijts will acquit them selves with credit. The new shell streets arc playing havoc with pneumatic tires of bicycles and vehicles. The city owns a splen did stone crusher, would it not be a good idea to press it into service? Brunswick should encourage t'ne coming of the Fifth regiment to St. Simon or Cumberland as the ease may he. The regiment will be here for a week and it means a good d*i to the merchants of the cityv John Temple Graves, the distin guished Georgia orator Is to lecture in this city Friday night. He is one of the most eloquent men in the coun try aud will of course have a large audience. Should Judge J. W'Bennet, of this, city, make up his mind to become a candidate for the vacant place soon to exist on tiie supreme ciurt bench of the state ae will make it lively for the others who may have a similar ambition. The Atlanta papers are mentioning Judge Spencer Atkinson, in connection with the coming vacancy In the Supreme court. The judge only a year or two ago resigned from the supreme bench. Do the Atlanta papers assume that he is flirting with the justiceship? it is quite evident that preparations are being made for some political fun lu lower Georgia. A report comes from Brunswick to the effect that tin "lily whites” are grooming J. M. Wil kinson. for congress in that district to oppose W. G. Brantley, the Democratic nominee. What will be done to Wil kinson will he a plenty.—Tampa Her ald. That's no joke. Congressman Brant ley represents the Brunswick district in congress and he will remain there just os long as he cares to. The old time cry of "lily whites" has been tried time and again in Georgia, and in this neck of the woods! we fight the common foe. whether he be a lily whits or blacky black. LET IT ALONE. In many quarters of the city there Is a disposition to inflict the people of Brunswick with a long and heated municipal campaign. To this The News desires to enter a most earnest protest. We have certainly had a sufficiency of polities for a while at leaat, even to satisfy the appetite of those who are very fond of the game, and for the average citizen we are certain that we voice his sentiment In saying that we have had enough for t'/ie year. Lets let the political situation alone for a time and devote of energies to tne more worthy task of building up Brunswick, commercially and In every other fashion. Othello has no reason to complain of the loss of hisi occur nation, for there is much to he done an.l every loyal citizen of Brunswick can find plenty of work to do along this line if he will but devote himself io the task. Tnere is a season for all tilings, hut we submit that this is not the time for the (very fascinating diver sion, which often proves a costly one. When the ides of December roll round, and the people are confronted with the cold fact that anew official family is to be elected for the next two years, then and not until then will it be time for us to come to gether and decide on five good men to fill the offices we have to bestow, but for tho present lets leave the question severely alone and devote our time to n theme decidely more engaging and surely more Worthy of our attention — the upbuilding of Brunswick. Governor Candler did not pay the usual courtesy call on the President on the occasion of his last visit to Washing ton. When asked why he did not do so, the Governor said: “I have read the re cent speech of the President’s delivered at at Arlington cemetery.” Good tor the Governor. SOUTHERN PROGRESS. Mothers Make it the Home Medicine For the Little Ones Tne children, God bless tnem, are the buds and flowers of our homes. Without their prattle and hearty laughter our homes would be desolate. They should ever be carefully tend ed in childhood and youtn, if we ex pect them to ripen to perfect men and women. In tne home and at school, the chil dren have their times of ill-health and Buffering. We often note the pallid and bloodless cheeks, heavy eyes, ner vous' movements and twitchings of limbs and muscles. They complain of headache, drowsiness, weariness, dyspepsia, and indigestion. All such symptoms and ailments mean that the seeds of disease will have a fast and firm hold, unless proper measures are taken to restore a perfect condition of health. Thousands of wise and pruirdenf parents nave made their chidren hap py, healthy, and vigorous by giving them nature’s medicine, Palne'si Cel ery Compound.
