SIMON ISLAND The program for the Fourth of July celebration on St. Simon island has practically been completed, and nas promise of being one of fne most interesting that the island has had in a number of years. While it is essentially a sportsmans organization, in that it was organized and established by that observant and conservative class of sportsmen who realized that upon themselves, in a great measure, depends the preserva tion of the wild creatures of the woods, fields and streams, yet its unselfish purpose, consistent policy, persistent energy and insistent earn estness have won the approval and support of thousands of the best cit izens of the non.sporting classes. WILL BE INTERESTING. Boat Race Around Marsh Island will be Seen by Many. A great deal of interest is being manifested in the bateau race which is to occur on the Fourth. The course will be around Marsh island, a dis tance of probably eight miles, and the boats will be in sight of Brunswick during tiie entire race. So far a large number have entered their crafts. Wants Educational Rallies In notifying tne county school com - missioners of Georgia that checks have been mailed to them for tlu* pay ment of the teaoners of Georgia for tlieir second month's work. State : School Commissioner Glenn in his let ter, urges upon the commissioners the importance of educational rallies that as many as possible be rroldin the various counties during the summer. Commissioner Glenn says that he has information that many rallies have been arranged for. He has nu merous engagements to make speeches in different counties during the summer months.
