The News desires the subscribers
who are behind in their subscriptions
to come up and pay at once as their
papers will be discontinued unless a
settlement is made. It is unfair and
unjust to make The News send you
a paper and then when the collector
calls refuse to pay for it.

Willis Dart Is Cue youngest .superi
or court judge In Georgia.
A learned Mew Jersey judge has
found “goo-goo eyes” as being “atten
tion without Intention.”
The revenue of the government will
be decreased 170,000.000 by the ces
sation of the Imposition of certain
war taxes.
Virginia farmers not only make hay
when the sun shines, hut they plant
tobacco by moonlight, and occasion
ally by lamplight, when they have a.
good season.—Richmond Dispatch.
The Nashville America says: “The
south which has been Mr ltryan's warm
friend and loyal supporter, has had
enough of him. It will follow him
no longer. While it has mt apologies
for its past course, it has given indi
cation that it will no longer follow an
Impracticable leader on dead and hope
less issues.”
The Commoner, edited by William
J. Hr.van, explains the matter as fol
lows: “The papers reported that Mr.
Bryan wa s invited to the Tildeti club
banquet, hut did not reply. The fact
*
is that he was not Invited; had he
been he would not attend a political
banquet given in honor of one who
twice opposed the democratic ticket
and has never since announced his in
tention to return to the party.”
Some interesting facts are revealed
in the consolidated vote for governor
in the recent primary. Mr. Terrell, as
was supposed, leads the other two
candidates by a large vote. In fact he
needed but 6,157 vote's to have a major
ity of all votes east. Hi' received 02,-
772 votes when tis.s't! would have been
u majority over lint'll of till* lit hi l !' (‘ an -

THE NEw'jUDGE.
That ns a neat compliment that
Governor Candler bestowed upon Wil
lis Dart, formerly of t’.iis c ity, when he
appointed him to fill the unexpired
term of Judge Bennett, as judge of
the superior court of the Brunswick
circuit. f
Personally, we nave known the ap
pointee for many years, and from this
knowledge of dim, we do not think
that the governor lias made an error
in naming him for the very high office.
Willis Dart Is at all times a close
student and is essentially a bright
man. He is clean personally, broad
and liberal in 'his general view of
things, and the judiciary of the state
will not suffer because he has been
added to it.
We extend him congratulations on
the magnificent success he has achiev
ed, and wish for him an abundance of
it in the future.
CORONATION HONORS.
The determination of King Edward
to announce the “coronation honors’’
in spite of the postponement of the
event itself was carried out and there
is the usual per centage of disappoint
ments among those who had hoped
that the lightning would strike in
stance that ex-American citizen
their direction. Mr. Astor, for In
whose aspirations for a peerage have
been so often set forth in the “yel
low Journals” —is not yet accorded the
title ol Karon Astor of (ilivedon. lion.
Michael Henry Herbert, the new Em.
bassador to Washington, Is not named,
while Sir Ernest Cassel whose gift of
a million dollars for the amelioration
of cure of consumption led to a pretty
general public expectation that 'tie,
too, mould take a s: at, in t ie house of
lords, baa to content himself as a
privy counsellor. Among the actor
managers of London, Beerbolfn Tree,
John Hare and Alexander are all pass
ed by, while Sir Charles Wyndham
joins Sir Henry Irving and Sir Squire
Bancroft, in the tanks of the knignts.
Literary England may be said to fare
well, for Dr. Conan Doyle, Gilbert Bar
ker, F. Burnand and Leslie Sic
phen are all created knights. So, too,
among British artists we find Sir Ed
ward Boy liter, president of the lloyai
Academy, made a baronet; George
Watts is appointed to anew order of
merit, and Algenon Bertram Milford,
trustee of the Wallace collection, is
made a peer.

Question Answered.
Yes, August Flower still has fine
largest sale of any medicine in the
civilized world. Your mothers’ and
grandmothers never thought of us
ing anything else for indigestion or
billiousness. Doctors were scarce,
and they seldom heard of appendicitis,
nervous prostration or heart failure,
etc. They used Auguse Flower to
clean out Inc system and stop fer
mentation of undigested food, regulate
toe action of the liver, stimulate the
nervous and organic action of the
sytitem, andw that is all they took
when feeling dull and bad with head,
aches and ot'ner aches. You only
need a few doses of Green’s August
Flower, in liquid form, to make you
satisfied there is nothing serious the
matter with yWu. You can get the
reliable remedy at Dr. G. G. Greene’s
reliable remedies at Smith's Phar
macy, W. J. Butts.
