Two western cities have recently been objects of public attent.on be cause of the revelations of corruption in their respective governments. In Minneapolis there ’has been uncovered a system atic partnership between the police department, and a gang of gamblers and confidence men. The situation in the Minneapolis city Is particularly disgraceful. Several successive )irials of sus pected parties have brought the fads to light. It has developed unit mem hers of the police force voluntarily approached well-known gamblers and offered lo combine efforts in a scheme to defraud Whatever victims might he induced to enter the trap.
