TWO KINDS, OF ANARCHY.
There is generally too much atten
tion drawn to the anarchy of poverty
and there are impression;? sometimes
that the poor are unreasonably as
grieved against the rich. But as a rule
there Is no serious anarchy of poverty,
or what is so-called, without provoca
tion by anarchy of wealth. It the opu
lent and powerful were always just to
the poor and, incidentally generous, on
Christian lines, there would be much
less friction, unrest, and open revolt
anywhere. Lot us look at one case in
point. Even the Boston Globe is

is fortunate for the millionaire class
of taxpayers that the laws of today are
not like those in vogue in the days of

in regard to wealth at that time led to
loss of property, d.ierty and even life.
If there be no legar reformation and
these disorders increase there may be
no violent revolution, but the anarchy

LAND IN THE SOUTH.
The News believ h that beiore long

Compared willi the market value of

are -cheaper than those of any other
section of the country. Iu the rapidly
developing sections of the west there
has been a great Increase iu the val

there is every reason to believe that
there will be a greater demand for
southern lands in future.

A Tender Hearted Doff.
A sick dog took up his abode la the
field behind our house, and after see
ing the |x*or thing lying there for some
time I took it food and milk and water.
The next day it was still there, and
when I wa - going out to feed it I saw
that a small pug was running about it,
so I took a whip out with me to drive
It away. The pug planted- itself be
tween me and the sick dog and barked
at rue savagely, blit nt last I drove it
away and again gave food and milk
und water to iny’protege.
The little pug watched me for a few
moments, and ns soou ns ho felt quite
nsshred that my intentions toward the
sick dog were friendly it ran to me
wagging its tail, leaned up to my
shoulder and licked my face and hands,
nor -would it touch the water till tbe
inviilid had had all it wanted. I sup
