A large excursion will reach the city over the Southern railway to morrow morning from Atlanta. Chief Green was busy yesterday morning testing several of the fire boxes iu different sections of the city. The supervising architect of the public building Is advertising for bids for Ihe electrical work to lie done on j the building. Most of the Brunswick contractors will make a bid on the work. Dr. Kennon Mott is spreading out in "his optical line. He has an office in Vicksburg, Miss., and lie will proha lily open one at Norfolk, Va., and later in other live c ities. Mr. Mott has and is having great success in this line and has many letters of praise from prominent people. John C. Lehman, for many years a rt sidcuit of Brunswick, but who ts now residing in Atlanta, will return lo the oily tomorrow, and will hereafter manage the business of 1,. Goldsmith, on Gloucester street. N.r. Lehman has a large circle of friends in the city who will welcome him among them again. BURGLARS STILL AT WORK. More Houses Were Entered Wednes day Night. The burglar or burglars who are in lirunswiek at present are still at work and two or three more people reported yesterday that their houses had been entered during the' week. The thief seems to be after some thing to eat, and in most cases lie has entered the pantry and relieved it of all the groceries. The police arc? now keeping a sharp lookout all over th' city and the thief or thieves will be canr'fit if the work is kept up, Within the past two weeks at least a doz, n houses have been entered in all sections of the city, and quite a number of articles have been stolen. TO OPEN A GERMAN SCHOOL. Rabbi Friedman, of Tampa, Here For That Purpose. In Sundays issue of The News there appeared a clipping from the Tampa Times to the effect that Rabbi Fried man. of that city, had accepted a call from the synagogue of this city. Tills Is a mistake, as our Jewish citizens have not yet decided upon a rabid. However, they are in coimuu ideation with several and will make a selection within the next few days. Rabbi Friedman is in tne city and is making arrangements to open a German school. His family will ar rive hero later. The fish law recently- passed pro hibiting x'iniiyi v.ernvn months in the year has caused a scarcity of fish unprecedented in the history of Bruns wick and many who have heretofore had fish two or tnree times each week are satisfied if they do that well in a month under existing circumstances. Iron Coming Monday. •Contractor Bowen told a News rep resentative yesterday tnat a large shipment of iron to be used on the public building, would arrive Monday, and the work will start up again.
