The Knocker.
She had a little hammer,
ohe used it w. ii a will,
She knocked at everybody—
They couldn’t keep her stiii;
She knocked a,rout her neighbors
If they were friends or foes.
She knocked about the table.
And knocked about her c10,,..e5.
She knocked at hubby’s smoking,
About his snoring, too;
She knocked about his whistling.
And so, perhaps, would you;
At last the reaper claimed iter,
Her course on earth was run;
Her husband then considered
Her knocking day* were >oue.
Hut hubby went one evening
To see a spirit show,
Where always in the gloaming,
The spirits come and go.
lie heard a spirit Knocking—
“My wife,” he said, 'T il bet!
Now, isn’t she a wonder?
iiy gosh! she's Knocking yet!”
